A couple of months ago TN’s Governor warned us not to worry about a gas shortage. Pumps were dry 3 hours later.
Fortunately I bought a 10 lb box of bacon just last week. And it’s just me. I should be able to hold out for a couple of weeks.

In the midwest at least, whenever you see a meat processing plant, you will find about half the kids in the local schools speak fluent Spanish. Just saying.

If the fresh stuff runs out, there is always "Tactical Bacon" to hold us over.

I agree with being prepared. I would advise everyone to go off the grid and plant their own pigs.

Are pig plants a shrub or root type?
Also, what climate zone is best for them?
Last question. Do pig plants come in hybrids that give the part you want, or is it still whole pig or nothing?

I’ve heard planting them with jihadi’s makes them grow
faster...

Sometimes I like a little salad and ranch dressing with my bacon bits. Bacon bits last forever, by the way.

... pork bellies in cold storage fell to 17.7 million pounds...Isn't that like one pound for every 20 people?
Is it really that low?
Even the quote from two years of ~50 million pounds is only one pound for every six people.

I’ve been going to the meat department, and walking past the beef, rolling my eyes! But they’ve been having this great deal on boneless porkchops. Big ones! Two to a pack. As big as my hand and thick. And “Buy One Get One Free!” Like $5.30 a pack, and delicious!
I’ve been wondering about Pork Bellies. I can get the already sliced up at my Asian Market. I’m not interested in making Bacon out of them. What do they taste like when fried up like Bacon?

Post-jihadi invasion (post Obama), those numbers were probably true. Now, however...
