The last thing the United States needs right now is another celebrity personality sticking a nose into politics, another person who has never lived the struggles of average Americans developing the policies to fix average lives.
So of course right now is when Peyton Manning surfaces on the political scene, set to flank President Donald Trump at a Senate-House GOP retreat in Philadelphia that began Wednesday. Manning will reportedly speak at the event, part of a lineup that includes Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.

He’s a private citizen and is free to support or endorse any party or candidate he chooses.
So it’s wrong for him to be with Trump, but perfectly fine for Madonna and Ashley Judd to take part in the P*ssy Riot?
Casting aside accomplished people running our country who have never been average or have never experienced average life conditions would necessarily rule out most of our Founder Fathers.

It's always good for a laugh when a New Yorker starts to bloviate about 'average Americans' (read: backwards rubes).
When, precisely, did these average Americans ask anyone to fix their average lives? Who presumes they want such a fix? What might this fix be and would it mean that their lives were no longer average - at least in the condescending view of a writer at a dying NY lefty rag?
Yeah, we don’t want people running for office who have demonstrated unparalleled success through an incredible work ethic and high intelligence. We need professional politicians who accomplish everything by selling their selves to the highest bidder.
