I’m seeing a lot of boy skills, so I want to add some girl skills, such as how to sit like a lady.

“Learning to spell correctly (Ex: “tyre”) is a life skill that takes more than 5 minutes.”

Tyre is correct.

Why? Do you need to look under the bonnet?

Real men are born with this knowledge. And if not, we make it up on the fly because we can.

I thought we got complete control over the language as part of the lend-lease program early in World War II. The only reason why it was still called English rather than American was to keep from tipping off Hitler.

Oh, I’m only a recruit. The Grammar Police Dept probably will never hire me. Swinging, or hanging, sometimes I misplace my modifiers. Also, with ends of sentences, sometimes I don’t know how close to put my prepositions at. Sometimes, I even, overdo, the comma thing. But I’m working on it and one of these days when I get done with my studies and all the extra work they have me do plus when I do a lot of posting on websites like free Republic I get better at writing anyway so I know I’m going to have a good chance if you know your various parts of speech and all.

"How to make a campfire starter that weighs less than 1/2 oz, costs about 5¢, and works every time."

1. Paper egg carton 2. Dryer lint, sawdust, or wadded paper. 3. Melted paraffin. Put 2 into 1, drizzle with 3, then break apart as needed.

It is spelled correctly, in the UK, where the article was written.

Knowing that there is more than one form of English and some words have alternate spellings is a skill that can be learned in under five minutes :)

Get a pack of tea light candles at Wally's - about 40 for a couple bucks,
Cut strips of cardboard (kind w/corrugation in middle) about 1" x 3",
Light candle wick, set candle on piece of foil, and let burn til all wax melted,
Curl cardboard and gently press edgewise along inside edge of candle cup,
Let dry.

When using, ignore wick and light cardboard edge,
Set under pre-piled kindling and Bob's yer uncle !
