“The spoiled Cheap Labor Express might have to treat Americans like human beings again.”

Something they haven’t done is over 20 years.

Now if we can only get the natural resource base industries going...

That would be the ones where none of these happen without.

Ag, Forestry, and Mining.

My first reaction was boredom. Okay, another Trump win, not really worth reading beyond the headline. $10B is a lot of jobs, and a political junkie like me is bored? President Trump looks likely to keep his promise on winning, and he is not even in office yet.

Lol!!

Maybe I’ll send that as a ‘Thank You, ___’ note suggestion to Jimmy Fallon. With an explanation of what the working man/middle America are ACTUALLY thankful for....jobs, winning economy, etc.

“Ag, Forestry, and Mining.”

It will happen but they are a lagging indicator.

No. They are the leading indicator. If the supply of natural resources and the ability to get to them is not there, there is no reason to invest in manufacturing in the area/country.

This is another reason many of these coproations tend to migrate away from this country. The costs of natural resources has been driven up because of rules and regulation.

“No. They are the leading indicator.”

Normally, yes, but right now warehouses are stocked full, so they have to start emptying before new manufacturing orders are given.

One word...electricity. It takes mining to even begin the production.

Unless they think that drilling/mining isnt energy production.

And no, wind and solar isnt gonna hack it. And hydro electricity hasnt the capacity.

True. I guess coal mining would be a leading indicator. I live near coal tracks, and it is easy to tell if the steel plants are in production or if someone is having a cold or hot spell.

I will tell you this. I live near the main BNSF line from CA to the east. Used to see at least a stack train going east every 10 minutes. Not anymore. I also understand that UP had a 20% drop in its frieght.

Trucking seems to had dropped off a bit also on I40.

I guess maybe we had better get the experts to ask the transportation industry how well its going and forget about the numbers game a little.

Shame what they did to the coal industry in CO. Heck the whole country for that matter.

I wonder if they will fire up the older coal fired plants after a bit to bridge the gap to the newer plants.

Besides, the Japanese cars have the driver on the right side.

LOL! They still ship Japanese made cars over here and those tend to have the driver on the left....
