deflategate might have been cover for something more egregious...like how Jordan was quietly retired and away from the game....we’ll never know how deep his gambling went..
Please educate us on why you feel qualified to comment on this subject, and that you can judge others as “scientifically illiterate” when you yourself fail to factor in the effect that moisture content in leather can have on both the porosity and expandability of a leather football?
When did they do that? From everything I've read from them, they're the ones that come across like yokels.
I mean, let's face it - Rog ain't the sharpest tool in the shed. Before this "Deflate-gate" thing, if you had pressed Goodell on the Ideal Gas Law, you would have elicited the longest blank stare imaginable.
Now, if that had been the New York Jets that complained about this, a new study would have been commissioned, at a cost of at least $10 million, recommending Roethlisberger be publicly hung by the balls, but only after lots of innuendo had been applied to suitably smear the guy.
While being vilified, he would not be damaged to the degree Brady was, because (1) he does not play for the Patriots; and (2) he is NOT Tom Brady.

It never ends with these people...does it. Here is the NFL NOT investigating deflated footballs between these 2 teams cause they know that once they open up those can of worms the whole fraud will be exposed. This was never about deflated footballs.

I agree that Goodell is a fool and a pox on the league. I wonder about the balls though. What if they were filled in a warm locker room to 12.5, then brought out onto the field in the snow...

The only thing that would be exposed is that perhaps the officials mishandled the balls which is hardly fraud. Brady/NE fans seem to be under the impression that the Steelers and/or Roethlisberger himself deflated the footballs. Because of deflategate, the footballs are now in the hands of and managed by the officials, so tampering by players is not possible. Brady directing the “deflator” and then obstructing the investigation by destroying his cell phone is a different matter.
The point is that the PSI thing was always nonsense. The NFL was/is never going to get into that swamp again (which is why this will not be looked into at all) because they messed up the measurements to begin with that evening the Pat’s played.
Even if he is, which I doubt, he should be fired.
There are a lot of ignorant people incapable of critical thinking who unthinkingly believe the crap they are fed by the NFL and portions of the media.
They haven’t even got the stones to just admit they can’t raise themselves over a juvenile level of fan hatred you usually see in brainless 12 year old boys.
I could respect them if they just said something like “Hey, I am a (insert team here) fan, and I just hate the Patriots and want them to take all the abuse that is heaped on them, undeserved or not.”
But they won’t do that. They take the pious approach in the way liberals do when they say “it is all for the children” or some BS like that. Bunch of ignorant, useless turds.
I agree & as I have pointed out: the NFL used 2 different pressure gauges to measure the footballs that evening. They got 2 different results. The science, such as it was, was not properly controlled because the initial measurements were not done with the same equipment. The case should have ended there.

Exponent made detailed measurements of a football's bladder when both wet and dry. The difference is so small, it is within the uncertainty of the measurement devices.
A bigger difference would be the change in atmospheric pressure during the game. During the first half of the 2015 AFC Championship game, the atmospheric pressure declined by 0.07 psi. All else equal, this would increase the measured pressure of the ball by 0.07 psi. (Think of taking a bag of potato chips to a high altitude. The decrease in air pressure makes the bag puff out.)
During the December 4 game in Pittsburgh, the atmospheric pressure declined by 0.03 psi. The change in atmospheric pressure is more statistically significant than the impact of a wet football.
This further supports my belief that Patriots fans are more comfortable making emotional arguments instead of scientific ones.
Patriots are 11-2. I’m going to say it, TOM BRADY IS THE GREATEST NFL PLAYER OF ALL TIME, EVER.
