Know what? I think he was being sarcastic when he said "we don't care". He has a wicked sense of humor. Remember when he asked Russia to release the emails? He was joking about them having them. Media took him seriously back then.

No point in his caring now...he is not president yet and has no power to do anything. There are other priorities. It does not mean that later he will not care...
The wall is more important at this time. Reversing Common Core and the “Affordable Health Care Act.” Hold it over their head and silence them for the next 4 years.

A lot of things "played" good before the election:
Prosecuting Clinton.
Repealing the "Dreamers" act.
Repealing Obamacare.
Etc.
Trump knew that all of these things sounded good to conservatives during the primaries and the general election.
People can try all they want to deny the backpedaling now, or desperately try to spin it as some 3D-Chess, master-tactical move by Trump to do something or other.
It's true that we won't know what Trump is going to do until he does it, but it seems fairly obvious that a lot of us got "played".

You can't just dismiss the message because you dislike the messenger.
That “messenger” is known to outright lie as well as do “clever edits” - which they got caught doing earlier this year if you recall.
It is reasonable to doubt them.
Rather touching and cute that you trust them.
I’m sure they appreciate it.
He won’t get in the way of her prosecution, but he knows it would be unproductive to keep up the chant and seem like he was using the Presidency as a weapon of vindictiveness.
