Every iconic franchise began somewhere. Every one started with a single store opening its doors to a public that had never heard of it and didnt know what to expect. These entrepreneurs had no idea what they were launchingand no inkling that their concept would take the world by storm.
What did these original outlets look like? What do they look like now? Some of the worlds biggest chains have preserved their first stores so customers can get a look.

I do love the bit of real Americana one gets from the last lines about the original McDonal's site in San Bernardino CA, where a non-McDonald's entrepreneur made his own McDonalds museum. A gentleman with an apparent Japanese name, Albert Okura, who made his own fortune in Southern California with a Mexican Chicken chain, Juan Pollo, honoring the McDonald-Kroc legacy!
I have been to Sanders Court in Kentucky. It is pretty enlightening.
“Colonel” Sanders was a hard working guy who promoted himself and his products in a lot of different ways. He was a truly remarkable man!
How about Chick-fil-A with the creepy dwarf theme...?

Getting a chicken sandwich at the “Dwarf House” with little doors and pics and statues of dwarfs all around isn’t creepy?
Keep in mind - I live near Mt. Horeb WI - with trolls all around. Dwarves aren’t creepy, compared to trolls! :-)
