Really? I was thinking one season of our defeated group would be more than enough. Rather see them fighting than defeated.
I think he was headed away from the Savior’s compound. Not 100% on that, though.

OK. I just wasn’t sure. Thanks.
I think about one season of the character Negan is
quite more than enough for me. I won’t expose myself
to that much TV snark. After two seasons I’d be looking
for Lucille to give myself a smack in the head. The
actor Jeff Morgan just does too good of a job.
The episodes with the Governor were spread over two seasons, IIRC. Technically, the Negen timeline began last season.
I couldn't make out what that was that Michonne came across, smoldering by the side of the road. Anyone know?
I thought it was all the mattresses.
Ah, that makes sense. Thanks.
Excellent albeit depressing episode. Two things I went away with: Judith isn’t biologically Ricks (and he accepts that) and GUN CONTROL. Last nights episode just reinforced the concept that “controlling” groups demand that others be unarmed. Maybe my eyes are just trained to “see” ongoing conservative issues in everything but that is what got me in my gut. That being said, I simply despite Neegan and look forward to his death (not very nice of me,I’m sure :)
Props to Gabriel, too, for faking Maggie’s grave. Very clever.
Indeed, the time to shoot the bad guy between the eyes is *before* he has all your guns loaded into his trucks. Funny that the "inventory" didn't account for the gun that Carol had with her (that she handed over at The Kingdom).
Maybe Carol kept it hidden and "off the books" the entire time. There's another lesson.
According to TD, the items being burned were the matresses. It was difficult to tell in during the scene.
Negan burned them because he could.
Slowly but surely they are losing me...
This episode about lost me last night.
First:
Alexandria and Rick could have easily set up an ambush and slaughtered them. Rick or Rosita could have shot Neegan through the gate. Carl could have shot Neegan when he came sauntering into the house.
Second:
Rick should have told everybody it’s time to take the show back on the road and loaded up and moved out but instead he grovels that this is their life now and they need to accept it. They didn’t have any problems getting there and chances are they may run into the folks at the Kingdom or plan a trip to any nearby military base. I’m sure there are several weapons to be found around the Whitehouse/congress buildings similar to Atlanta from Season 1.
Third:
They have no plan. In past episodes they planned on how to get rid of the zombies escaping from the gravel pit, now nothing...
Fourth:
How are they going to supply anything to Neegan now that he took all of the weapons? His group isn’t very industrious, have minimal gardens, and they just cleaned out the furniture.
Fifth:
The whole Neegan shtick is getting old. At least Rick and the Governor had a quiet sense of calm, but Neegan keeps dancing around whoo hawing.
As for Negan why didn't someone just shoot him?
Answer: The TV show and graphic novel would have lost out on all of the hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue they will gross, stringing the audience along with "filler" for another 10 to 18 episodes.
I know that Rick and the others were traumatized by Negan's "batting practice", but Ricky acted stupidly and totally against type or the ultimate welfare of those within his charge by acquessing to Negan's demands without a fight.
Sure they may have been out manned and outgunned, but they were within a fortified position, had plenty of guns and ammunition and there would have been at least a 50% chance that Negan would have been killed or seriously wounded in the ensuing fire fight and once Negan was "taken out" then his followers would have been LEADERLESS. And given the fact that the only thing holding this army of misfits together is their abject fear and terror of Negan and what he could do to them; Once that threat was permanently eliminated, they would have likely lost the will to fight or become totally ineffective because of their loss of Negan's singular authoritarian "command and control".
Rick's giving up ALL of their guns to a blood thirsty, lunitic in a vain attempt to placate Negan and prevent him from killing anyone else was a stupid decision for the following reasons:
1) Rick knows first hand that Negan is totally out of his mind and will brutally, and mercilessly kill ANYONE, AT ANYTIME, FOR ANY REASON THAT SUITS HIM. So hoping that Negan will "play nice" and keep his word is foolish: You can't reason with a rabid dog, all you can do is KILL IT ASAP, BEFORE IT CAN KILL, OR KILL AGAIN. You would have thought Rick and company would have learned that lesson by now.
2) In spite of what Rick knows about Negan, Rick's reason for giving Negan ALL of their weapons is so that Negan will not kill any one else. DUMB!
As soon as Negan gets all of their weapons secured he flat out tells Rick that they are all his slaves, he doesn't care if they live or die; he intends to work them all to death and that he can and will now KILL THEM ALL, should he whimsically choose to do so ... one a week if the mood strikes him, and since Rick gas given Negan all of their guns, there isn't a single thing they can do about it!
If the next 8 to 15 episodes are going to revolve around Rick and companies impotence, groveling and being totally cowed, brutalized and terrorized by Negan and company, the story is going to get really old, really fast.
That. Episode (season 7 episode 4) jumped the shark. Turned a group of fighters into idiot pansies. Wife and I both said we are done. Completly stupid. The apocalypse is on them and their locking all the guns in an armory? Go find a few SAW and sett up a cross fire zone with a reaction force to gut them when the saviors arrive. Throw in some IEDs. Done. If you lose so be it.
Anyway we are done watching at our house. Too slow too stupid too many commercials. No common sense, no balls no story,
Yesterday, I saw that the Critics' Choice Award nominations had been announced. They had Jeffrey Dean Morgan listed as a nominee for Best Guest Actor - Drama.
Now, this is from last season's programming; so, he got a nomination for the WD finale which introduced his character to the show.
I’d like to be on the ping list.
LOL. This is the zombie apocalypse. There is no hope.
Truth is, human nature being what it is, something like this would bring out the socio/psycho-paths. They would be the ones doing well under these circumstances because they are the types who like to break all rules concerning behavior. Free-rein.
