Very nice. Hopefully, our Vets will receive better treatment in coming years than they have lately.

This was in the paper as a Thanksgiving style dessert. I haven’t tried it yet, but it sounds lovely...

Cranberry Crunch Cake

Ingredients:
½ cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
¾ cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup cranberries
1-1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
½ cup light brown sugar
½ cup chopped pecans
2 tbsp melted butter

In a large bowl, cream butter & sugar. Add eggs; beat until well combined. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder & salt. Add flour mixture alternately with milk & vanilla to egg mixture. Fold in cranberries. Spread batter in a greased 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with marshmallows; press into batter. Sprinkle with brown sugar & nuts. Drizzle with melted butter. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25-30 minutes. Yield: 12-15 servings.

A really easy appetizer is pick a peppa sauce poured over a block of cream cheese. I love the flavor.

I took your advice & bought the better than bullion in both chicken & beef & they are full of flavor & delicious. Great recommendation!

That is so nice! How our vets are being treated is one important reason I voted Republican for the first time in my life. I was stunned & thrilled when I woke up to the result. Needless to say my mother was furious when we talked Wednesday night & our phone call abruptly ended. Depressing.

I had a very dear, elderly friend who died early this year. She was a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat, and we just ‘agreed to disagree’, and never discussed politics.

You can maintain a good relationship with someone who thinks very differently than you do on politics. It takes some discipline, but with family, it’s important to try. It hurt me so much to see my friend, an extremely intelligent woman, falling for the ‘party line’ and abdicating from any intellectual discrimination; but especially with the elderly, it makes no sense to stress them with argument if they have obviously made up their minds.

You just have to appreciate them for who they are, for the reasons you love them, and talk about something else.

“A really easy appetizer is pick a peppa sauce poured over a block of cream cheese.”

CovenBusters’s Horseradish Dip

• 14- to 16-oz jar apple jelly
• 14- to 16-oz pineapple preserves
• 5-oz. jar prepared horseradish (NOT creamed)
• 2 oz. Gulden’s mustard
• 1 T. cracked pepper
• 8-oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
• Box of Wheat Thins

Mix all ingredients together. Refrigerate overnight.

Pour over softened cream cheese and serve with Wheat Thins or cracker of your choice.

May also be used as a condiment with ham or turkey. Good stuff!

At another site, we learn the Democratic Party is crashing and burning in
utter and abysmal defeat. So, let's drink to that....couple flaming martinis.

I oddly enough have a few more D friends than R’s [in a county that’s SUPPOSEDLY 55%R], so we just agree to disagree, and don’t discuss politics.
