Weeks after Rahman’s death, a photo, appearing to depict the scene of her son’s death, was leaked. The date, Aug. 8, was the date of Rahman’s death.
The reporter who obtained the photo, from television station KMOV in St. Louis, chose to blur the body in the photo as well as the face of the North County Police Cooperative officer, since no wrongdoing has been determined.
He is wearing gloves, holding onto the arm of the body and giving a thumbs up.
When asked if she could imagine any reasonable explanation for the officer’s pose in the photo, Staton said, “No, because when they come to a call, they’re supposed to be there to help and protect, not doing what he was doing with thumbs up and a smirk on his face.”
Staton’s attorney, Antonio Romanucci, agrees.
“It’s hideous. The implications of this photograph are just astronomical,” Romanucci said.
He believes something isn’t right.
“I have seen thousands and thousands of forensic photographs, I have never seen a staged photograph of an officer next to a deceased body,” Romanucci said.

There is a period after you have survived near death from a gunshot, while still tasting the burnt nitrocellulose and dry mouth while the you realize the perp is stopped.

Had no idea that all dozen or so Keyboard Warriors weighing in on this thread were present that night in order to know the exact context in which this photo was taken. This is a fraction of a second frozen in time and you all have no idea what was happening the instant it was taken.
But you all love to get your dander up and start preening about like proud cocks, strutting your supposed "moral superiority". So while this cop is out risking his life every day, you jerks sit around and bang on your keyboards and pass moral judgments on people and things about which you know nothing. It was stupid to make that gesture. Police in general should treat their jobs with more dignity. The man is dead. No more can be done to him.

I have a simple rule.
Never ever call the cops unless you want someone arrested or shot.
I’m all for the thin blue line over anarchy, but the concept of peace officer there to serve and protect - that’s a pant load.
