Too late.
He’s either with the Lord, or not.

Lets see, do we use Jesuss words, This is my body or trust Jack on this one?And the verse after says, "Do this in remembrance of me". I think that's the sticky wicket.

Once a man has passed from life to death . . . there is no prayer for that person - he makes his decision for Christ in this life only. There are no second chances beyond the grave, despite what your leaders have told you.
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).

"For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord" (I Corinthians 11:26-27)

He has one great tract called, “This was your life.” I’ve used it for years and it always gets a response. It’s the only one of his that I’ve ever liked, however!

When this announcement appeared in a prior thread, I had to look this man’s name up to find out who he was (and I am a lifelong committed Christian). Some Catholics on the thread mentioned Chick’s antipathy for Catholicism. Then one posted a string of Latin words that meant nothing to me.
So I went to an online translator and plugged them in. It turns out it was a Catholic blessing said for the deceased.
Now that was just beautiful—true agape in action. Very uplifting.

I mentioned your truly beautiful post from last night, so I thought I might as well ping you. My comments are in #26. Here’s what you posted:

For those of you, like me, whose knowledge of Latin is scanty, here’s the translation :
Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him, for Thou art merciful.

As a concrete example, IIRC, he claimed that Islam was created by the Vatican. You have to be massively ignorant of history to believe something so ridiculous, and so offensive to the countless Catholics who have fought Islam, and those countless other Catholics who have been murdered by Moslems over the past 1400 years.

What, you don’t buy that Catholics committed the Jonestown Massacre and started WWII? I bet you don’t even believe that there is a giant supercomputer underneath the Vatican with all the Protestant names and locations.

Yeah, a nation that was demographically over 60% Protestant, led by a guy who wrote about his hatred for Christianity in general and Catholicism in particular (Rome was the antithesis of Germania in his mind), was working for the Vatican. Islam, whose rise can be traced through recorded history, was actually created by the Vatican, so masterfully that not a trace of involvement was left behind. Does the Vatican have E.T. on a slab of ice down in the archives?
You can't seriously believe this stuff.

It's also a theory that "Bush did 9/11." It has the same problem though -- zero evidence.
The reality is that the Catholic Church stood as a bulwark against Islam for thousands of years -- Catholics retook the Holy Land and lost countless men in the process. Catholics smashed the Turks at Belgrade, Vienna, Lepanto, and countless other battles when many Protestant nations were forming alliances WITH the Ottomans against the Catholic empires of central and near-eastern Europe. These are concrete, verifiable facts of recorded history...Unlike "The death-cookie magic cult created Islam."
