Apple has complained of a "flood" of counterfeit goods masquerading as its products being sold on Amazon.com.
The claim relates to items sold via Amazon's "fulfilment" scheme, whereby third parties list their goods on the retail giant's site, store their inventory in its warehouses and rely on it for deliveries.
Apple warns the alleged fakes are potentially life-threatening.
But it is suing one of the vendors rather than Amazon itself.
The defendant, New York-based Mobile Star LLC, could not be reached for comment and has yet to file its own legal paperwork.

Fine by me, love infighting among liberal leftist entities.
Good. I’ve been scammed this way more than once, just to watch the crap burn out in a month. It’s plain fraud.

I got one a month or so ago. . . and although boxed looking like an Apple Lightning charging cable, it doesn't quite feel like my genuine Apple ones. . . nor does it charge as quickly. It also will not charge when plugged in with one side up, but will with the other side up. Apple cables don't care which side is up. Obvious problem.
Agree. The fake junk is awful.
I hope Bezos and Amazon get hammered.
Call the Whambulance!
“Good. Ive been scammed this way more than once, just to watch the crap burn out in a month. Its plain fraud.”
Indeed. Nothing worse than receiving fake Chinese crap instead of genuine Chinese crap.
Apple is not suing Amazon. They are suing the seller, Mobile Star LLC, a New York based company which I will bet is a front for a Chinese based manufacturer of Knock Off products. I bet there are similar Android knock offs too from this same company. I'm pretty sure I saw some USB to USB-mini cables listed from them too, along with their certified "Samsung OEM" chargers. Wanna bet they never saw the inside of a Samsung factory?
Even the genuine Apple cables fall apart after about 6 months. I’ve had better luck with Belkin cables.
A while back I ordered “genuine HP print cartridges” for my HP Laserjet from Amazon. What I got was three refills and only one real HP. So I believe it that they’re selling fakes.
The chicoms got a sweetheart deal with the USPS and are flooding us with crap air mail from china. Especially lightweight stuff like cell phone accessories. Air mail from China is literally cheaper than first class mail. What a scam. Criminal.
I got hold of a counterfeit charger once too. If it is so cheap, that it seems to good to be true, it probably is. The cable itself was fine. It was the charger unit that did not work.
Don’t buy their shit.
Buy my shit. It’s cheaper...
Yup, weird. I've bought stuff shipped from China, free shipping, for small amounts. I don't get it. I had an iPad cable get frayed after having it 5 years. I ordered a pack of ten on eBay; the total cost was about $7 for all ten combined, under 70 cents each. They looked like the real Apple iPad cables, but slightly inferior. But they worked. China is definitely flooding us with cheap imports.
Sears stopped selling my refrigerator filter, so I ordered one on Amazon. It went bad after a week and started fizzing. I went back to Sears and ordered it online.
Very true. Genuine Chinese crap has to pass quality control standards and design requirements set by their OEMs if they want to keep their vendor contracts. It's called "competition" and it even works among Chinese companies vying for western money.
Apple supports Hellary, and Hellary supports TPP.
I’ve gone through several lightning cables and am about to lose my current one.
I don’t get why they don’t make sturdier cables...

How would you fell if your Galaxy came with an iPhone in the case? Oh wait they already do, well for anything that matters they do except iOS.
