a) It’s not really 250,000 years old
b) At least one group of ancient humans DID figure out how to work aluminum
or
c) It’s extraterrestrial
Option “c” seems to be the least likely, but I guess it grabs the most headlines.

Aluminum does not stand up to excavation. All the excavators I’ve ever seen use iron buckets, with teeth attached. Even a trenching machine uses a steel chain with steel teeth.
