“it was only about a 5.9 mag.....”

You’re being too modest. USGS and CISN list Northridge at 6.7. You rode a big one.

It knocked apart the scoreboard at Angel Stadium 50 miles from you.

I did not say it should happen, or that I wished harm to anyone.

Of course.

But a big earthquake in California is overdue.

The Vegas odds on it happening are the same as the Clinton's going to jail. Which have both been increasing lately.

It would be very “interesting” to be in one, but much safer to find it “interesting” from a couple of hundred miles away.

"Interesting"... as in "may you live in interesting times" (which is a Chinese curse)????

NASA says that Hurricane Matthew is producing torrential rain. Stay tuned for further discoveries, like increased wind speed.

That’s for sure. They are at least disquieting to go through. The idea of that much power being expended is scary.

A bit of a heavy sleeper, but mostly because they were on a vibration node. They had a little water sloshed out of their pool, but a mile either way buildings were leveled.

My best friend embalmed about half the victims, after dealing with that mass casualty event, she decided to work front office instead. I miss her.

On a side note, the Sylmar quake woke me up.

I was in Pomona...

” mostly because they were on a vibration node. They had a little water sloshed out of their pool, “

Funny how that works. I knew of a family in Fullerton who had their pool emptied by the Sylmar quake. The water lifted out in a mass and smashed through the sliding door and into their kitchen. Their daughter barely missed getting caught in that glass plus water tsunami.

Yeah, the random nature makes one want to believe in angels and demons!
