I would say the risk is declining, Jordan said. Of swarm activity at the Salton Sea, it really hasnt been very active in the last couple of days. Its been pretty quiet.

We need more fracking to cause more earthquakes!

From midnight PST tomorrow night you are going to see a Huuuuuuuuge coverage of weather, storms, earthquake risk etc.
And by no small coincidence it will neatly overlap the wiki releases.

A massive California earthquake in November 2nd would be very interesting.

Yup, now it can happen.
I work on the 24th floor of a 24vstorey building. Like all tall buildings in LA, we’re on rollers. So during an earthquake, you roll around. Walk like you’re drunk. Sick stomach. We have the whole 24th floor and all walls are built in files .... all of the files open and it’s funny looking!

I did not say it should happen, or that I wished harm to anyone.
But a big earthquake in California is overdue.
It would be very “interesting” to be in one, but much safer to find it “interesting” from a couple of hundred miles away.

The potential caps out somewhere around 7.2 but where and how we’ve built, that would be more than enough. Would have been worse a few years ago but building standards are very slowly improving.

Northridge and Sylmar were in the 6.6, 6.7 range. Big enough to make me rethink the idea that earthquakes are fun.

I had a cousin sleep through the Northridge quake, 1 mile from the epicenter.
In the top bunk!

A heavy sleeper or stoned?
I was 50 miles away in Orange County and I can guarantee you Northridge caught my full attention.

I left Northridge, CA and moved to NH last year. Earthquakes - main reason. We were overdue for a big one. The Northridge quake big enough for me. My whole apartment collapsed in that one - it was only about a 5.9 mag.....
