I have always enjoyed college football, those kids are FUN to watch, still a business but not quite the same. I am going to focus on a little more football on Saturday and a bit less on Sunday.

It will only matter if ratings go down. I doubt casual fans care enough about it to stop watching, and the NFL is so huge because of casual fans. The modern NFL product matches general culture almost perfectly, it only became more popular the glitzier and weirder it became.

I actually wonder if ratings will go up because of the extra media exposure the NFL is getting. We’ll see I guess.

I wouldn't pay to watch the 49ers until they cut Kaepernick.

I'll take you one further...I wouldn't pay to watch any football game, nor basketball baseball, hockey, soccer, badmitton, etc...nor would I pay to go to a movie theater to see the tasteless garbage that is 90% of today's Hollywood fare. I try as much as possible to avoid shopping at Penney's, Wal-Mart, Target, Kohl's...I avoid any ostentatious brands like ben & jerry's ice cream, anything advertised by homosexuals or those I know to be flaming liberals. In today's America it is hard, damn hard to avoid subsidizing depravity, but I do my best not to give my hard-earned money to people who are out to destroy me and my way of life!

Ditto and include the Denver Broncos also. Until they cut that moron Brandon Marshall. The real blame for all of this is the NFL and the leader Goodall. These idiots are being paid millions to play football and represent the team and the NFL. They do not have a right to express their personal feeling while in uniform. What is next? A unisex player dropping his/her pants on the field because there is no unisex bathroom?

They would have to boycott. It’s not like Kaepernick is going to get anywhere near to the playing field so people can’t boo him.

I am confident each player’s contract has a clause, about behavior, actions that are ‘harmful to the team, the league, the sport.’

They could invoke the clause, and fine or terminate player(s).

If the team, the league, the sponsors too, get hit hard enough financially, lawyers will look into doing just that.

But not until hit hard, financially.

We are in the phase of testing the allowable cost, for white guilt.

An organized boycott, to refuse attending or viewing all 49ers games, refuse buying the products on 49er broadcast, etc. could work.

There should be no organization exempt from anti-trust laws.

Including the government itself.

I will not watch any team that allows this b.s.

If this spreads much I will boycott all NFL teams (or other sports leagues).

The only concession I would make is that a player can remain in the locker room (until the game is about to begin) if his tender “conscience” feels unable to respect the flag and the national anthem. DO NOT come out on that field and disrespect our flag and anthem.

Ofc I’d prefer that teams simply cut any loser who will not stand with his teammates and show respect.

MLB attendance was way down after the strike. Then they the players began to juice and break homerun records, and the crowds grew. I suspect that MLB allowed this to happen to an extent.

The tickets are probably all bought for this season, so the only way to hit them hard quickly is for a national TV boycott (TV is where the big bucks are anyway).

It would be great if viewer numbers for all NFL games could plunge so hard so fast that the league would be forced to change course.

The fans needs to hit them hard and fast where it hurts.

I don’t want black people to go back to Africa, I want them to wake the Hell up and EMBRACE the concept of personal responsibility like Ben Watson, Dr. Carson, Allen West etc....

Let’s turn this country around!

Must admit, haven't watched much pro-sports lately(being from Detroit, I guess that means NEVER, when it comes to football), but watched some last night.

Is the NFL becoming as real as professional wrestling?

That HL(head linesman?)that hesitated, then proceeded to mark the ball up a full yard from the REAL spot(he was standing right there)for a 1st down inside the 5 for Denver(eventually overturned on replay)???

The 2 or three flags thrown, then picked up and called "no foul"..???

...just had to LOL at those and other calls/non-calls.

Don't like a team/owner?...or how about a boring game that needs to be extended for fan interest(that is, for ratings $$$)?....

...just throw a flag or 2(or 5)at key points during a game/or the inverse, keep that Kleenex in your pocket...even after witnessing a flagrant violation...

...presto!...you change the outcome of the game.

Like the NBA, where if the letter of the law were followed...there would probably be a whistle for a foul on every play...for the NFL, it's holding penalties, pass interference, etc.

Hey, it's now a multi-billion dollar business, what's integrity got to do with it when there's lots of money to be made?

(kind of like Wall St./hollywood/politics)

Remember balloon boy?..."you guys said that, ummm, we did this for the show..."

What the heck...may still be entertaining...

...just not sure I'd continue to call a controlled outcome a..."sport".

I will only watch my team play.

So what do you do when "your team" plays the 49ers? I'm a Rams fan, and I have to deal with that this Monday night.

Boycotting is free speech.
So free speech counters free speech.

This is something to celebrate every time it happens (even if it goes the other way and people boycott something I believe is correct)!

During the Broncos-Panthers game last night, all the Panthers stood for the anthem, and all of the Broncos did but one, Brandon Marshall (not to be confused with Brandon Marshall of the Chicago Bears). Today I wrote him a letter and suggested he read the article by Ryan Bomberger titled “Dear Colin Kaepernick,” which pointed out the naivete and lack of knowledge revealed by disrespecting the American flag, the terrible message it sends to young boys and men for whom NFL players are role models, and its complete ineffectiveness in addressing the “problem” so many black Americans imagine exists. I don’t suppose he’ll read it, but maybe...

It will only get worse as long as the NFL refuses to take action/.
It is BS that the league allows this a-hole to wear socks depicting cops as pigs and not allow the Cowboys to have a patch supporting cops.
They risk losing support,
Think I may go to NASCAR. NOt about to see that kind of crap there on a Sunday.
Wondering if it will spread to other sports besides the stoopid soccer guy.
