Piers Morgan,

What if a group of men caught you and cut off half of your tongue? Would you then think carefully before speaking next time? Surely you would be doing a lot more thinking than talking.

Big Game hunting brings a lot of money into African countries, lifting many people out of poverty.

It’s highly regulated

I wish you could pull posts back and edit them !

Why would anyone want to talk to Piers?
If no one did Piers would soon ... disa-piers
Seriously if he got no one to interview he would end up being a floor walker at something like “Grace Brothers”.
He could do a Mr. Humphreys with his eyes closed!

The death of this giraffe does not move the species closer to extinction.

Agreed. Some African countries have figured out that you can allow controlled, managed big game hunting and can make a profit off the venture, to boot. I assume this was a licensed kill and is probably in line with the giraffe population management policies of the host country.

You can choose to see Abortion and hunting as morally equivalent, but I do not.

Give it up. If you were not raised in a hunting family or around hunters, you will never understand.

> It’s highly regulated, and no one sneaks in and guns down endangered species. The hunts are sanctioned and controlled. The death of this giraffe does not move the species closer to extinction.

As long as the count is accurate then no problems but it's sort of like pending on Rhino horn poachers to report the head count. The pic of a 12 year old next to the dead giraffe is like cheese to rats...

I agree with you here. The giraffe killing was needless, simply to satisfy ones vanity. It was simply wasted, not used for food or anything. Giraffe populations are in decline. “Buffalo” Bill Cody would ride in a train and shoot buffalo in like fashion, leaving them to rot. He “earned” the moniker “Buffalo” by having shot 250 bison in one day, all of which I assume were useless kills, left to rot. Indians were also known to stampede entire herds of bison off cliffs, how many were used for food or clothing is not known.
A sad part of the bison history which almost drove them to extinction. I did read one author who claimed the bison were decimated , leaving only 14 at one time in the US. But the last arbiter on this question should not be the clown Piers.

Why didn’t her Daddy just buy the kid an OVER-SIZED STUFF GIRAFFE toy?

I bet that would have been better and guaranteed not to rot and stink in her bedroom.

“Didn’t some zoo kill (or let die) a giraffe lately?

Forgot the details.”

Well, I do not know about that but they also shot a gorilla in the Cincinnati zoo! they are uncaring, unloving beasts, aren’t they? /s
