Vanity: If Tea Party is AstroTurf, why did the Dems lose 2010 & 2014?

Posted on 08/14/2016 11:15:25 PM PDT by Shadow44

So I saw an article peddling yet again how the Tea Party is dead, and it was lobbyists who made it up to fleece people.

The media says that the Tea Party is a fraud, but how can they explain the horrific loses in 2010 and 2014? Not to mention we now know they had to use the IRS to hang on in 2012. Not to mention every RINO presidential candidate was a huge dud.

Just something that was bothering me.

The Tea Party has not gone away, it has gone underground. The GOPe, eager to keep their greedy faces in the money trough, gleefully joined the Democrats in attacking and marginalizing them. I was a Tea Party enthusiast too but got disgusted when the TP leadership let themselves be beaten down without fighting back, like the true country club Republicans they were. However the patriots behind the Tea Party movement are still here and they will go Trump, no doubt about it. They, like myself, will enjoy twisting the knife in the GOP at the ballot box and hounding them into the political wilderness.

The Tea Party shall rise again.

Thankfully democrats never show up for mid year elections except 2006.

Because they were off year elections and Dem voters are too ignorant to know to vote then, too.

The Teaparty was co-opted by the Koch brothers over the last few years. It started as a real and effective grass roots movement.

The Tea Party cannot give up. It’s war.

Here’s what bothered me.

Taking a look at how these Tea Party Groups spend their money. Most are pitiful, bordering on scam operations in my opinion. Even looking at the best money-to-candidate ratio for Club for Growth, it’s hookup with the CoC and against Trump says that group doesn’t represent me or my sentiments.

I have Tea Party Sentiment, I won’t belong to a formal Tea Party because we have no control over the respective self-appointed leaders. The Tea Party Patriots with JBM at its helm is a prime example for me.

I have seen the most vile, hateful posts on social media about Tea Partiers it is nauseating..however, the strength of our movement is stronger than any insult. We must prevail.

My comments on the other article were that illegal IRS suppression of legitimate Tea Party groups was a big factor. Maybe harder to prove is what I also think was likely: the groups that IRS did approve were the ones most likely to be run by scam artists who would not use money for anti-’Rat political purposes. If I’m wrong about that, IRS should explain why the results are different than that would indicate.

You are totally correct about TPP and JBM.

No one Tea Party. There is no tea party itself that is nation wide. There is a movement called the Tea Party. Not currently active from what I can see.

I would welcome a new party to replace the GOP. Call it the Tea Party. A rose is a rose.

So I saw an article peddling yet again how the Tea Party is dead, and it was lobbyists who made it up to fleece people.

It was real, it was just deliberately stabbed in the back by Liberal Republicans like Mitch McConnell and John Boehner.

I have come to realize that the Donor and Lobbying classes of both parties are the same people. We have in essence a "Uni-Party" and we are going to keep having a Uni-Party until we start taking out our own trash, such as Mitch McConnell.
