CARROLLTON, Ga. (August 5, 2016)- A father was charged with manslaughter Friday in the deaths of his 15-month-old twin girls, who were left in a hot car in their west Georgia town, police said.
Witnesses heard screams and saw Asa North running from the parking lot in front of his home, carrying the toddlers to an inflatable kiddie pool out back. He and his neighbors tried to revive them with water and ice packs, but they were too far gone.

Even sadder though:
..the girls are the 25th and 26th children to die this year in hot vehicles, more than double the number by this point last summer, said Janette Fennell, president and founder of KidsAndCars.org, a group that tracks such deaths each year.
There is no greater punishment than what the father is putting himself through.
I’ve heard various ways to help you remember including taking your left shoe off and putting it in the rear floorboard.
He was drunk, maybe their was intent. Lock him up.
Dear sweet Jesus! How? How do you ever forget your child is with you? How? I want to cry. I’m at work, though. Damn, this makes me mad.
Breakdown of the family. Moms stay home. Marry a guy who will support you Have kids after marriage.
Ridiculous? It worked for millennia before the cultural acceptance of birth control
Those poor babies
In this instance the father had been drinking and fell asleep.
This is why, when I walk past parked cars, I glance inside. I think, if we all made a habit of this, maybe, just maybe, we could reduce the number of children (and pets) who die in a hot vehicle.
His punishment should be that he be locked in a HOT!!!! car.
That’s no father, that’s a sperm donor.
It’s in a dimension special to humans, known as moral and ethical. This is the advantage, and the risk, of being human and not being an ape.
chaos is destroying our society and it starts with disjointed families struggling to balance work, children, household....
I have worked my whole life, but fortunately, its been part time...
My heart is breaking! This is so awful!
1. Car seats are supposed to be in the back and are sometimes rear-facing.
2. Sleeping babies are totally silent and car rides make them sleep.
3. Change of normal daily routine, e.g. different parent is supposed to drive or drop off kids.
4. Parent has other things on their mind.
5. Long enough drive for parent to be thinking about #4, forget about #3, and not be reminded because of #1 and #2.
There must be a lot of close calls, where the parent forgets but remembers before it's too late or someone else notices the kids.
Moms who are supported with love and resources are a basic of a family. When they have to work or want to as an enhancement to family or as a necessity to unforeseen circumstances, the family adjusts
better still, hang the bastard
Who is this STUPID? It boggles the mind!
That's a good idea. A surprising number of things would not get done if there were not little reminders. Usually the results of forgetting are not so momentous.

I heard that if it’s really hot, and your babies are in the car, it helps if you do not get S-faced drunk, leave the kids in the hot car, and then pass out.
My neighbors were fixin’ to go somewhere the other day. They put the baby in the car and were rounding up another kid when the other little sister got out of the car and locked it behind her. With the keys in the ignition.
My wife came in and got me. I grabbed my aluminum meter stick and went out. I was able to slide it around the window frame and partially roll down the electric window. He had his hammer ready but we avoided that. They were pretty shook up.
Everyone was thankful and they offered to get me a new meter stick. You have to make a couple of strategic bends to make it land on the drivers door control panel. But I refused. About the only thing I use it for is to unlock cars.
