Side note: watched Valley of the Dolls the other night. When it was over, Mrs. Chandler said it was two hours out of our lives we will never get back.
Force the kiddos to watch and learn what a life of crime will take them to.
She’s lucky she avoided the death penalty and needs to leave it at that.
The Tate-LaBianca murders, Manson’s “Helter Skelter”, etc...Man, the Beatles sure didn’t need that!
Check out the town name on the police cars in the first episode of the Outer Limits.
Lund has it right about these murders and the fear it caused at the time.
The wife and I never saw Valley of the Dolls but I tend to agree with Mrs. Chandler.
It’s too bad the current RAT regime didn’t apply the Manson rules to John Hinckley Jr. (the person who tried to murder Ronald Reagan), who they let out this week.
>> The ringleader; Charles Charlie Manson, was convicted later.
4x4’d Goller Canyon a few years ago and stopped by Barker Ranch where Charlie was hiding in a kitchen cupboard when arrested.
Creepy, isolated, place.
I couldn’t agree with you more.
Read the book “Helter Skelter” by candlelight at night.
It will give you the creeps all the way to your spine.
Started watching the TV series Aquarius because it was supposed to be about Manson, but the main detective seems to have turned into the Forrest Gump of the police world. In addition to being involved with Manson, he’s involved with the Black Panthers, the Zodiac Killer, the Nixon election, and more that I can’t think of at the moment.
He didn’t just try to murder Reagan, he did in fact murder James Brady, whose death was ruled a homicide due to the extent of the injuries inflicted on him by Hinckley.
I read it when I was 12, hello mom & dad?????, and it really horrified me in a way no other book has. I love reading & nothing comes close to the horror of “Helter Skelter.”
I love that book! Jacqueline Susanne could spin a story. When I saw V of the D I was struck by how absolutely beautiful Sharon Tate was. From what I have read she was a lovely person in all ways & was absolutely thrilled to be having a baby.
She should never be let out of prison. I have NEVER understood why someone who has murdered another should EVER be let out of prison. They stole someone’s one shot at life. No parole ever.
- The book Helter Skelter, by Vincent Bugliosi, the DA that tried the Manson clan.
- The movie Helter Skelter, a made for TV movie about the Tate and LaBianca murders and the trial, based on the above book.
I think Manson was/is right about one thing: He’s a reflection of the socio-pathological culture that created him.
Now, as if 1968 didn’t suck enough the first time, they “recreated” it.
I guess that’s the nature of what puts the Usefulness in Useful Idiots... in the context of the book of Romans.
Amen...Read it years ago and it’s excellent.
