I want the color blue back.

I do too but red is the color of anger, blood, and revolution and is perfect for Trump. Red is used by the side that is overthrowing the corrupt "public servants" that looted the country.

I made the same comment to my wife. While I initially thought that going first would be a disadvantage for Republicans, after watching the RNC convention and Trump I realized — as did he — that going first was a perfect opportunity to set the gameboard.

Basically Trump defined the gameboard. Since then the DNC has been on defense. With the Wikileaks revelations and yesterday’s big press conference by Trump, timed to end just as the DNC’s third convention day started and using Russia to bait the Democrats and media, he is forcing them to play his game.

I suspect Kaine was not Hillary’s first choice, but I think they realize that Trump was effective in pulling Reagan democrats into his camp. At this point, it looks like the DNC is reacting to Trump. Even their speakers were trying to blute Trump’s advantage instead of extolling their candidate’s “virtues”.

The same people who organize anti-Republican debates, schedule the conventions.
