Come on. No Green Lantern? He was in the original Justice Society. No Martian Manhunter?

Ask yourself why.

People are desperate for heroes who overcome. With superheroes it’s still ok to succeed.

Looks good, but since when does WW need a Captain America shield to deflect bullets? She has those great bracelets.

I think the new wonder woman looks good. Not just good looking, but a good character.

The newer comics have her with shield and sword

I thought Green Lantern was actually a pretty good movie and very well done. It had great effects and all the characters were straight from the comics. What wrecked it was their choice in villains.

I don’t care if Hal Jordan was a historical Green Lantern prodigy, you don’t send him to fight a universe ending villain when veteran Green Lanterns, some hundreds of years old, are beaten with ease.

Also, what exactly were they planning on doing for the other two movies?

I understand, but super heroes are not real. So Hollywood is only allowing the unreal to succeed according to your line of thought. Thus, success is actually impossible according to Hollywood. There is then no REAL hope for the REAL world. There is only disappointment, disillusionment, and nihilism. I’m not the only one who has noticed this: https://pjmedia.com/lifestyle/2012/02/01/shows-about-nothing/

Lol obviously not much since it bombed...I never really liked DC until Miller’s Dark Night Returns, and Gotham by Gaslight (still a mainly Marvel fan though lol)...but the Nolan trilogy and Man of Steel were pretty good...B vs S was good IMHO...looking forward to the Justice League movie after having seen that trailer.

Just addressing people’s desires. How Hollywood handles this is a different question. But people really know what they want.

It was the nebulous and unrelateable movie villain that killed it, imo. If they had been a little less ambitious, and maybe have Hal Jordan save a village from a rock slide or something like that, I think it would have done a lot better.

I agree; they tried to do too much...GL could be a good cinema franchise if handled right...again this is the opinion of a Marvel-centric (lol) comic fan

Looks good, but I've been fooled by awesome DC movie trailers before.

(I'm looking at you, Batman vs Superman)

I don’t care if this is better than Ben Hur or Lord of the Rings; I’m too turned off by the stupidity of Super Friends to watch this. The Wonder Twins seemed to have a queezily hermaphroditic personality, and they were STILL the best characters.

“But people really know what they want.”

Through the media people can be conditioned to want what they previously did not want.

Nonsense. Lenin and Stalin had 100% control of the media for 50 years and the people still took down the system.

Nonsense. Lenin died in 1924, Stalin in 1953. The “people took down the system” in 1991 - after six years of glasnost (”openness”) and perestroika (”restructuring”) which significantly reduced old Soviet controls and allowed criticism of the U.S.S.R. to dramatically increase. The people did not “take down the system” under Stalin or Lenin.

They were setting up the corruption of Sinestro.

I mostly enjoyed the movie with several exceptions.

Parallax, the evil cloud; was a poor villain for an action flick. I also thought that OA, the home of the Guardians and the center of the universe was poorly portrayed as a barren rock.
