Folks, credit where credit is due. Toxic Teddy did something that I didn't think would be easy or fast and he did it in less than a half hour. Last night Toxic Ted single handedly strangled most of the alwayshillary movement and unified the conservative/nationalists behind the Trump ticket. Wow. Well done, Teddy! Let me be the first to buy you a drink and a rat to exploit! You da man, the legend in your own mind!

Kudos are also owed to the Trump campaign, who played the speech by Toxic Ted like Perlman plays a stradivarius. It was awe inspiring, something to behold. From the technical problems with the display, to the appearance by Donald as a hook to end Toxic Ted's blathering, it was a thing of beauty. Beauty!

So let's look at what was accomplished last night.

- Teddy destroyed his political career within the gop. But in so doing, he opens up a door to a bright future as the spiritual head of the People's Conservative Temple and Party. Which will break off to establish a dominionist theocracy in the jungles of Guyana. You go Teddy!! Bon voyage! And don't forget to pack the flavorade!

- The remaining good folks within the Teddy movement, that is to say those who are sane, will decide that following Teddy might not have been all that great of an idea. They will be, and should be, welcomed back into the fold with open and loving arms. We missed ya!

- The remaining lunatics, flat-earthers, and fools who follow Teddy into his self-imposed exile will be gone. They will have self-deported from the conservative/nationalist movement and we will all be better off for their departure.

- From a personal point of view, Teddy just made my job knocking on doors for Trump easier. I can easily and truthfully say that the knuckleheads followed Teddy out the door.

All in all, an awesome night!

“If you want someone to grab a beer with, I may not be that guy,” Cruz said. “But if you want someone to drive you home, I will get the job done and I will get you home.” Ted Cruz, 2015

Radio host Howie Carr just said that after last night's speech if he needed a ride home he'd rather ask Ted Kennedy than Ted Cruz.

Ted Cruz is like Gollum. “My Preciousssss, the nomination.”

Bound up in the fate of The Donald, Cruz like Gollum did good without meaning to, to his own destruction.

I just watched the 1976 Reagan speech and STILL cannot believe that this guy just could not even deliver 1/100th of that. Cruz was just 100% selfish prick all the damn way.

It’s not going to matter in the end, but he just demonstrated the difference between real American class and maturity with Reagan, and sadly someone that just believed all of the hot air from his fans that he was “just like” him.

With his childish stunt, Cruz has effectively rendered himself antimatter to the Trump campaign. The same with any hangers-on to the cult that is his ever-shrinking coterie of hard-core supporters. Were Trump to reach out and begin compromising with this group of losers, he would in effect begin repelling supporters he already has.

So, Ted, and you cultist hangers-on, enjoy your little echo chamber! Nobody wants you, nobody needs you!

Of course if Toxic Ted is driving a limo and I am the passenger I will most definitely roll up the window between the driver and the passengers and put the phone off the hook.

Something else to consider:

Suppose you were Trump having to decide whether to let Cruz speak or not. You don’t care much about his endorsement but your #1 goal is to unify the party. If you were as brillant a strategic thinker as Trump it would have been an easy decision.

Best case, Cruz would have capitulated and given an endorsement which would help bring at least some of his supporters to the Trump train.

Or, as he probably figured, Cruz would be his usual arrogant, petulant, egotistic self, and in the process would alienate many of his supporters who would be appalled at his pettiness and inability to be a gracious loser by putting the party first. Thus even in this case, there would be fewer Cruz supporters afterward and those disillusioned ex-Cruzers would be potential Trump supporters. Rejecting Cruz is the first step toward unifying the party.

We were told how brilliant Cruz was, now we see he’s just as Roger Stone put it, “A dumb son of a bitch”.

Ted cooked his goose with me when he blamed the violence in Chicago on Trump.

His performance last night was further confirmation that he is an insufferable ass.

Lyin’ Ted will soon leave the country and return home to Toronto.

That’s a positive in my book

The dinosaurs are giving way to warm-blooded furry conservatives. First, establishmentosaurus stayed home in droves, sealing their extinction. Then, tedosaurus rex showed up and threw himself into the Cleveland equivalent of the La Brea tar pits.

Trump is as good as a comet when it comes to mass extinctions.
