I have been visiting a lady now once a week for about a year to bring her Communion and pray with her as a volunteer from my church. About a month ago I was there when her grandson’s pit bull jumped up on her. She weighed about 80 pounds (the lady - the dog maybe 60). She was bruised and had a sore on her mouth. I talked to the grandson who lives with her. He was defensive but next week all was fine and no sign of the dog. She passed away yesterday but she was ready to go. But my point is that I did call elder abuse and they just asked me to keep an eye on things which I did. She had full time aides and I’m sure they were watching out for her.
I’ve had tenants who were getting kicked out who made a claim to police regarding an older relative as a tool for retaliation.
Wellness check is step one.
Social services could easily come Monday, so have doctors records and visit information handy.
Be on your A game for a week.
If nobody shows past mid week it could be over.
I can see letting the EMTs come in for a check, but can the cops come in like that unless you invite them? I sure do not want them in my house for any reason, ever................
Cops inside houses tend to have odd things happen later.
When I read the first sentence about the fall, I was apprehensive, but was relieved that it was a cut, and no broken bones. God bless your mother.
I should add in all honesty that I plan to be up at 4 a.m. tomorrow for the final round of the British Open. I may have a Irish coffee or two. By 10:30 I may be ready for the paramedics! :)

I wouldn’t let this bother you too much FRiend, I would rather have the local constabulary do a ‘welfare check’ than to be indifferent and not give a damn.
My own Mom (passed away last year) was healthy as could be up until she took an unfortunate slip and fall (ironically on some damn ‘anti-skid surface’) and that started her decline and eventual death about 2 months later, but it wasn’t too long before that happened that I called up the sheriff’s department in her county and asked them to drop by for a visit as I had tried calling her at our ‘regular time’ and there was no answer, and my Mom later called me up saying “thanks for all the attention, but I’m perfectly fine”, and she told me that the deputies asked her if she had a gun in the house, and she said “damn right I do, and I know how to use it” and the sheriff’s department let me know that while they were not worried about my Mom, they would stop by and say hello once in a while so *I* wouldn’t worry, lol
Glad your Mom wasn’t hurt any more seriously than being sore. The Lord be with you both.
Keep your place clean.
You can ask police or social worker, but it could be anonymous and it doesn’t change anything.
Was any of the emergency responders creepy?
Maybe the relative said something not true at 101 and brought this on to.
Someone cared.
Let it go and spend the energy on your great mom.
Let it go... One of their side jobs is protecting the elderly. Be thankful they cared...
They are watching out for Elder Abuse. I wouln’t let it bother me.

Sorry your mom fell, and glad she is recovering.
I ended up in the ER last week with an injury and the nurse asked me if I felt safe at home right in front of my husband. It made me laugh. He is a big joker so it was a good thing he didn’t make a funny remark about causing my accident.
With all the elder abuse going on these days, the questioning was probably routine. I would just let it go. Sorry you had to go through that.
Challenge anything that is not accurate. Make them fix the report.
Inaccuracies in reports become embedded errors and will affect any future dealings the authorities have with both you and your mother.
Never let an accurate report stand.
First of all, WOW congratulations to your mom for living such a long life!
I would be infuriated at the accusations so don’t know what I would do, but I see other advice here is to let it go. That’s hard to do.

If it is followed up and a record is found that indicates drinking and the record is expunged after some action it will surface again UNexpunged and with a new notation referring to noncooperation and surliness.
