“Well...I am thinking it may be just as well to stay with Win7 as we will need new computers soon enough...probably be forced to Win10 THEN...unless can find another similar option...at this stage not sure changing OS is good...my husband has a hard enough time with anything computer...hes wired for financial stuff NOT computer stuff”
Yeah, W10 oem install is a better option, but plenty of W7 Pro’s til 2020.
I recommend these for desktops:
Add 4GB to get it up to 8GB, and decline all other options, including McAfee and Office trail, which if not delinable, you’ll want to uninstall anyway.
I recommend refurb Dell Latitude W7 Pro x64 E5000 or E6000 series laptops with 8GB, i5 processor, DVD +-RW optical drive, integrated graphics.
Even if you get to the control panel half the commands don’t work. I have to go through and find the commands manually or use utilities from other hackers who made their own work arounds. At first Win 10 worked fine, then, autoupdate after autoupdate less and less programs worked. By then I couldn’t go back.
DELL? Um...haven’t heard the greatest things about them.
“DELL? Um...havent heard the greatest things about them.”
Dell (like all other pc makers) makes two lines of PCs: consumer and business class.
Dell’s business class PCs are excellent; consumer line not so much.
the optiplexes i recommend have a builtin 3-year, onsite factory warranty
the e5000 latitudes have a 1 year factory warranty and the e6000’s have a 3 year warranty. dell refurb warranty is same as new.
also, dell gives better service to buyers of their biz class pcs.
i’ve purchased hundreds of dell’s for clients and have had very little trouble, and for the few issues I’ve had, dell has been very responsive.
hp consumer pcs are trash and their biz line is only marginally better.
Thank you so much...Freepers are the best!
