Paul Nehlen’s campaign to take House Speaker Paul Ryan’s Congressional seat led him to the Texas border and left him shocked. Nehlen turned that shock into action and donated $42,000 of rifles, body armor, and other gear to help two of the under-funded and under-staffed sheriff’s departments along the remote and dangerous Texas-Mexico border. In letters exclusively obtained by Breitbart Texas, the sheriffs have expressed their gratitude.

Breitbart Texas broke the story of Nehlen’s generosity to the border law enforcement agencies. We wrote:

“Nehlen accused Ryan of failing to fight for border patrol agents during his time in Washington. The Republican Speaker of the House has come under fire for pushing open-borders policies with Rep. Luis Gutierrez, going so far as to say the United States is “more than a country… [and] more than our borders.””

THey do nothing and then when they campaign they talk about Washington as if they are not a part of it...I am so sick of it. But 95% of them will be reelected.

Frank Hamer was one of the greatest Texas lawmen of all time, tracking down Bonnie and Clyde among other accomplishments.

He once got a report that four Texas lawmen had been killed by Mexican smugglers at the border.

He went down there and asked how it had been happening. The lawmen said, “We tell them to surrender, and they shoot us.”

So Hamer said, “I’ll go out with you tonight, and you do exactly what I do.”

So they went to the border, and sure enough some smugglers came across that night. Without a word, Hamer opened fire. The lawmen killed about eight smugglers that night.

No more problems after that.

It’s in the new book “Texas Ranger: The Epic Life of Frank Hamer, the Man
Who Killed Bonnie and Clyde” by John Boessenecker.

The border incident was recounted in the Wall Street Journal’s book review.

If they're good cops they truly need to be helped and this was a great gesture. Depending on what kindof night vision they got, $42k won't go a long way.

Good thermal would be very helpful spotting bodies in the dark from a distance. d;^)

That movie was a big deal at the time. Very controversial on how they portrayed a couple of lowlife criminals.

On the plus side, it had two alumni of “Dobie Gillis” (Warren Beatty/Milton Armitage, and Michael J. Pollard/Maynard’s cousin), and a great theme song.

And of course, Faye Dunaway covers a multitude of sins.

I could of did without screaming Blache, but it was indeed a great cast. I miss all of those great character actors of the day, like Dub Taylor, Slim Pickens, Strother Martin, Jack Weston, etc. No matter what they were in, they fit just perfect every time.

Great move. Lyin’ Ryan must be Cantorized. What is very effective is to send Lyin’ Ryan a copy of the donation you send to Nehlen—works for any campaign. They hate that! Sending another donation to Nehlen. Go Nehlen!
