GOP OFFICE HOLDERS: If Trump is Kicked Out, we walk too, and YOU WILL LOSE (vanity)
(self) | June 17, 2016 | BobL (self)

Given the rumors that are flying around about 'changing the rules' at the GOP convention so as to prevent Donald Trump from being the Republican nominee, I think some thought should be given to the potential collateral damage to the Republican Party's efforts in November.

First, I'll state the obvious - if Trump is denied his position on the ballot in 2016, I simply will not vote for president - and I suspect that holds for many, probably a majority of Trump supporters.

So Romney, Ryan, or whoever replaces him will simply have to find another pool of millions of voters to push them over the top, and I'll give them a hit - IT DOESN'T EXIST. The only pool of voters they'll find is the 10,000 or so GOP insiders that can't stand Trump crashing their little conclave. The millions of us that took the time and made the effort to go out and vote, we'll simply will NOT VOTE for this new candidate.

Now I assume the above is already obvious to the GOP Leaders, so it's time to add a bit more to the mix. Do not, for a minute, think that us Trump voters have some great love for the GOP. WE DO NOT. We've been asking for a candidate to secure our borders (and that includes terrorist immigration) for over a decade, and all we get are Open Borders types and back-room scheming to try to get Amnesty through - the same Amnesty that is even opposed by a (albeit slim) majority of Democrats. The only people 'extreme' on this issue are the ones (in both parties) that will not let go of this push.

So here's what happens if we do not see Trump on the ticket - you Republican SENATORS, CONGRESSMEN, and CANDIDATES are going down with him. We will not vote for a party that denies its own voters their choice of a candidate...THAT SIMPLE.

So you guys, if you want, can continue your scheming to try to figure out a way to keep Trump off the November ballot - but if you do, be prepared to LOSE YOUR SEATS too, and watch the GOP end up with as much power nationally as it now has in California...a fate deserving of them if they try this stunt.

And you cannot say you weren't warned, for this is YOUR WARNING.

I posted this a week ago also - but it appears that many (or most) GOP officeholders still think they can hold office after dumping Trump.

I prefer they not find out the hard way that they are ABSOLUTELY WRONG, for that will also be the end of the country.

Agreed. I’m surprised to see my formerly rock ribbed GOP Congressman here in FL, Ron DeSantis, give a mealy mouthed endorsement of Trump. Doesn’t even read like an endorsement really.

As another FReeper said today: We now have Democrats and Traitors. That’s about it, IMO.

The GOP is making it so easy to abandon them. They simply won’t defend us. Across the board. IRS, Obamacare, Chicago, Executive Amnesty, etc., etc. An opposition party that does not oppose is destined for the dust bin of history.

They’re not trying to dump Trump. A recent article claims 1% of the delegates are plotting to do so...
THAT MEANS 99% ARE NOT.

The real problem is that they aren’t supporting him with their words and deeds.
They’ve got this Ryan “separation” scheme to help the RINOs. it doesn’t, won’t, and can’t work. It’s divisive and a sure failure.

Trump has earned the nomination fair and square. I am going to vote for him and if the GOP turns on him I am going to vote third party, and it will be the first time in my life.

The more that Trump appears to be outside the gop fold, the more support he gets.

The gop scum are hated by most of the public. And rightfully so. Running against the gop brand only benefits him. We’ll see what sort of shenanigans the gop scum pull but i expect it to be a big nothing burger in the end.

If they pull this $shit at the convention, the rioting won’t be outside in the streets, it will be inside the convention hall.

Tar and feather the RINOs.

If the republican party doesn’t get behind Trump and they pull some stunt, I won’t vote for ANY republican. I will write in Trump for President and myself for every other office.

I’m done with the GOP if they dump Trump.

Trump was not my first choice, but, the people of the Republican party have spoken, and we should go ahead and ratify that choice at the convention. The rules and established procedures for this nomination should be followed.

Who the hell do they think they are, royalty of some kind, who are going to come in and decree that we the people chose poorly????

And who are they going to trot out there?? Jeb Bush?? Mitt Romney??? Some other more moderate, allegedly more electable, Republican????

I did not support Trump, but I am very disturbed at this behind the scenes back stabbing and attempted coup d etat.

I will never vote for Hillary. She will become president if that happens without my support. But I will also never support the GOP overthrowing the will of its own voters.

The only way I EVER vote for a Republican again in my life, is if Trump is at the top of the ticket and if the Republicans get fully behind him with enthusiasm. If their support is less than that, this will be the last time I EVER vote for a Republican for any office.

Unfortunately it is well known that they would rather see Hillary win. I dislike Ryan more and more by the day. I would be proud of Cruz were to help Trump out.

Yeah. It’s like they’re choosing the worst possible time to play chicken with the American people.

They could have a dual purpose convention. A convention and funeral at the same time. If these crapheads were half as conservative as they pretend to be, Donald Trump would not be where he is.

The problem is that the establishment would gladly give the WH to Clinton. They consider that their status quo would be more likely with Clinton.

Similarly, they don’t care whether they lose the Senate.

I have given up trying to Divine the inner workings of the GOPe and their abject stupidity.

They seem to be on a suicide path and it keeps picking up speed. They are determined to destroy their own party for purely specious and selfish reasons. They have forgone anything that would benefit the country, just what spoils they can amass to themselves.

The Democrat Party is close behind and with Hillary and it is their last stand and hurrah also.

The so called leaders have been outed as Traitors, Hypocrites, and Liars. Paul Ryan has gone beyond the pale and has become the joke he is.

We finally have a candidate that won't roll over and grovel every time the MSM want him to and the losers that are the party leaders are appalled. Well the people had 17 others to choose from and rejected them. Yet the Anti-Trump diehards still plot their schemes to keep him off the ticket.

I tell you right now, if this happens, or Trump isn't elected, I may look at this as my last time to vote. The Republican Party at this point will not be getting anymore money and support after this election, if not before depending on circumstances.

“Unfortunately it is well known that they would rather see Hillary win.”

Depends who “they” are. I agree that GOPe types appear to prefer Hillary to Trump, but I directed this at OFFICEHOLDERS - they do not want to lose - and they will not KNOWINGLY sacrifice their seats to stop Trump or for any other reason.

But these, THE OFFICEHOLDERS, are the people that pay the biggest price for undercutting Trump - they need to read the comments here and fully understand what pulling the plug on Trump will do to them. They need to make an INFORMED DECISION before either helping out the anti-Trump forces, or not actively opposing them - regardless of FRANK LUNTZ or other operatives tell them.

If they, or their staffs, read the comments here - they cannot claim to be surprised when their seats flip to Democrat in November.
