GITMO is not Auschwitz.
As for the rest of your post, somehow I managed to make it through the US military without becoming a genocidal killer.
Would it have been better if this POS spent the last 60 years rotting in prison — or, better yet — dangling at the end of a rope circa 1946? Yes.
Wow. That’s like ten minutes for each murder or so. Pretty light sentence.
He is 94 and goes before the King of the Jews for judgement after he passes.
Indeed.
The One Who decreed the death penalty for all murderers in Genesis chapter nine.
Never said Gitmo was like any German concentration camp. Not said or implied. What was said in the first paragraph was one had better be careful in endorsing trials 72 years after the event, as we may find our 30 year old soldiers in 50~60 years time tried by international tribunals for acts done ten years ago. Fully valid concern, especially if we do end up under a one world government.
Never implied anything negative about the US military, with the possible exception that while you are not allowed to obey an illegal order (good thing), there is no mechanism by which you can challenge said order short of disobedience (bad thing). That is a factual statement, a recognition of reality, how that implies you being a genocidal killer is beyond cognitive dissidence. That connection is entirely in your head and has no relationship to the argument I was making.
You seem to be inferring preconceived notions into what I wrote. I think you need to reread the post without any preconceptions. It might be clearer then.
As for your final statement: vengeance is not ours, and in this case, for the reason I posted, it might well be an injustice. He might well have been a bastard, he might well have been a chap doing what he could to survive. Too much time has gone by for German courts to be able to evaluate his culpability. The fellow is going to die soon enough and will face ultimate justice at that point.
GITMO is not Auschwitz. Auschwitz was not Berkinau. Auschwitz had mostly Polish political prisoners, and Russian POWs, it was a labor camp. (The Auschwitz Volunteer,’ by Witold Pilecki)
