Are they in another rain delay?
Yep.
Good...more play for me to see when I get home.
I disagree. I like various styles, including the links. They offer some great ocean views and undulating landscapes. They have a stark, natural beauty, and they are very challenging if you are not used to playing them.
Completely disgraceful to hold the U.S. Open at that course, at least in the condition it was in.
OK, well as the song says, some say potato, some say pototo, some say tomato, some say tomoto...
Round three. Dustin Johnson and France’s Gregory Bourdy top the leader board.
My bad. Completion of round two. D’oh.
I figured something wasn’t right when I saw three balls on the fairway...
Outside the cut line, Mickelson, Fowler, Rose, Els, Goosen. Good ol’ Jim Furyk in the mix at -1.
I guess I’m kind of rooting for DJ. Jordan Spieth seems nowhere to be found.
BTW, in a weird sort of way, I’m beginning to like this course even though there’s no trees, a lot of weird looking buildings cluttering the landscape and a freeway running right through the middle of it along with train whistles blasting every so often. I mean, what’s there not to like?
The course itself, however, seems like a masterpiece in conception which is probably why it’s endured for so long. I’m enjoying watching the challenge the course presents to these great golfers.
Last year’s was an ugly sucker. I’m not overly wild about this course in terms of visual beauty but last year’s was in some kind of quarry turned into an ugly golf course. Fugeddabouddit.
Shane Lowry -7
Dustin Johnson -3
Andrew Landry -3
Daniel Summerhays -2
Lee Westwood -1
None of these golfers have ever won a Major. Should be fun.

That’s what the original courses were like.
Links (golf)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A links is the oldest style of golf course, first developed in Britain. The word “links” comes via the Scots language from the Old English word hlinc : “rising ground, ridge”[1] and refers to an area of coastal sand dunes and sometimes to open parkland. Linksland is typically characterised by dunes, an undulating surface, and a sandy soil unsuitable for arable farming but which readily supports various indigenous browntop bents and red fescue grasses, that result in the firm turf associated with links courses and the ‘running’ game.[clarification needed] It also retains this more general meaning in the Scottish English dialect. It can be treated as singular even though it has an “s” at the end and occurs in place names that precede the development of golf, for example Lundin Links, Fife.[2]
Good stuff. Looking forward to it. It’s been fun to learn how this course is so challenging with its narrow fairways and tough layout, especially holes seven through ten - a kind of Oakmont “Amen Corner.”
Wonder if Jordan is still feeling the pain for that devastating slide to the loss in the Masters. Hope he’s able to shake it off at some point and climb back up.
Enjoy and Happy Fathers Day. :)
You know, last year he made it look so easy. The Masters HAS to have left a mark. Golf, sooner or later, humbles us all. But he will be back, no question.
Dustin Johnson-one of the most despised men in golf.:)
