Sad. Wonder if they can sue and put the joint out of business.
You know there was this lesbian couple who sued because service wasn’t provided to them, make that knife cut both ways.
Anytime a black person thinks they are being discriminated against at a restaurant, whether real or imagined, they sue and get big $$$$.
That doesn’t work for white people.
Cook Out is a fast food privately owned restaurant chain in North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, West Virginia and Kentucky.
Trump supporters and true Conservatives should refrain from patronizing this idiotic chain of greaseburger diners.
This should not go unanswered.
Maybe some lawyers would be interested in the name, address, and serial number of the owners and those who refused service. I bet some bakery owners would be.
What’s good for the goose is good for the gander, as they say.
This is fascinating. In January 2009 I met my wife for lunch at a Bob Evans in Laurel, MD. Yes, it was inauguration day. Many people were wearing Obama gear.
After we paid I asked to see the manager on duty and blew up at him. You see, the Obama gear was on most of the wait staff. I don’t remember any customers wearing such. I told him “I wouldn’t care if the whole floor was full of Obama-supporting customers. But, I really don’t like the staff ‘in my face’.” I think he understood.
Our own waiter, an apparent African immigrant, told us he couldn’t believe they were doing this. We thanked him and overtipped him for his professionalism.
I will never go to one.
There is very viable Civil Rights litigation here.
Plaintiffs were clearly denied their Freedom of Speech rights in a place of Public Accommodation.
If it’s a small Mom and Pop place, a quick $10,000 settlement.
Large chain operation? More protracted legal work but a $100,000 settlement.
(Remember, lawyer gets 40%)
Please see post above re: civil litigation. They are big enough that this will be a six figure matter.
Robots won’t discriminate. Coming soon to every fast food joint near you.
Politics is not a protected class. Americans have the right to discriminate against people for their political beliefs.
and you need not worry robots spit (or worse) in your food.
See how quickly even conservatives will think to go the route of litigation these days, instead of laughing about it and going somewhere else.
The corporate headquarters should have imediately fired the employee(s) who refused to serve them. No other response is acceptable. “a free meal”? please, spare me.
No, they may not discriminate in a business of Public Accommodation.
You do not have the right to deny patrons service for those beliefs in such an establishment, nor discriminate against them in any way.
Look at the bakers and photographers who would not serve gay weddings.
I’ll take this case any day.
