This is awesome. C-Span's morning call-in show is a daily feast of beautiful Americana. Yesterday Alicia from Pennsylvania was slightly confused about which line to call, but there was no confusion about her thoughts on Hillary Clinton, George Bush, Trump, and uninformed American voters.

Kudos to a now wise, 76 year old, reformed democrat. They say as you age you acquire wisdom and she has arrived. One more thought she expresses, which is a truism. We do not need labels - Democrat/Republican - to guide us if we have a true American at the helm who only has the best interests of the people of this country driving him, not personal financial interests. It all boils down to getting rid of the corrupt, rotted out, innards of our present political system before it winds up killing this country.

this lady says it all about this election. None of us give a sh*t about the bullsh*t PC that has been rammed down our throats for decades.
More people are switching over than I ever suspected. I’ve seen several people on the street interviewed who had similar comments, even in the 2014 election people were already switching. I remember one radio talk show host saying he had never had so many callers at election time calling into say they had just voted Republican for the first time in their lives. He always gets a few, here and there, but in 2014 it was going on all day.
Same now, and it’s people who have decided to vote for Trump.
Massachusetts - I think it was 20,000 people switched from Democrat to Republican or Independent, all to vote for Trump. Another state, I don’t remember which one, 40,000, a 3rd state 60,000. I can’t remember which ones, but that’s 100,000 people switching parties to vote for Trump.
Then there’s also a large number who would never admit it to friends and family, or even to a [pollster on the phone, but in the privacy of the voting booth, Trump gets their vote.
Now I’m hoping Bernie Sanders is out of the picture, I’m pretty sure Trump will get a good chunk of those votes too. They want a political outsider, but would prefer Bernie. Hillary will get some too, but I don’t think she will be able to touch the number Trump will pull.
Now we have the attack in Orlando, I think if Trump plays his cards right, that will hand him the Oval Office on a silver platter. Gift wrapped. With a red white and blue bow.
People are starting to wake up, and this attack is opening a lot of eyes. People are being forced to admit it IS really happening here. Not all, I just posted on another forum (musicians) and one of our resident liberals posted this:

That’s a direct quote, copied and pasted from his post. He’s also one of those who always prefers to hit you with insults and sarcasm rather than holding an intelligent discussion. And of course, the usual name calling...racist, bigot, islamophobe, yada yada. I’ve been trying to get him and his ilk to hold an intelligent discussion for at least 3 years, they refuse, he usually comes back with sarcasm. He’s about to be on my very short ignore list.
Others are strangely quiet recently...not just an absence of insults and sarcasm, nothing posted at all usually.
The tides are turning, common sense might just win the battle for once...
