The western Europeans did overthrow their tribal Germanic barbarian roots for centuries in favor of a refined civilization - now - not so sure.

I would argue that the Western Europeans' "refined civilization" was a direct result of their "tribal Germanic barbarian roots."

It wasn't until the Normans -- descendants of the Germanic "barbarians" -- conquered England that it began to coalesce as the nation we know (knew) today.

Whatever the source of European civilization, it is clearly being eroded by the presence of the islimic cancer, as well as a nihilistic godlessness.

The Normans were Latinized. The Latinization of Normans and Barbarians is when they became civilized. The Germans themselves knew this.

Only about the 18th and 19th centuries to the 20th century did we see Germans start to praise their pagan Germanic past. We see how that turned out. In the 19th century the Germans erected a statue to Arminius, the German tribal leader who defeated the Romans in the Teutoburg forest as an expression of pagan German nationalism. Before that the Germans praised Latin culture and were embarrassed by their pagan ancestors and rightly so.
