First off, no one outside of National Review has ever heard of David French.
Second, if this is true, while Goldberg and Lowry will never admit it publicly, they’ll practically drink the hemlock at this news. It makes their #nevertrump nonsense look even sleazier than it is and that they were/are using their mag as an in-kind contribution to the campaign by one of their own.
I’ve been an NR subscriber for thirty years but I’m done with it when my sub expires this time. They’ve killed the magazine with this nonsense and, honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up an online only within a year or two.
