We have pretty big bass, some bream, catfish and supposedly 18 lb carp. We have pulled a few small bass and bream out. Mr. GG2 said he watched a guy take a nice bass out the other morning.

Go to La Palma and Van Buren near Santa Ana River Lakes in Anaheim and this is an hourly occurrence.

We live in a golf course neighborhood. Plenty of ducks and Canadian geese. We get ducks in our pool.
I like them too.

In fact, many Canadian geese gave up migrating
numerous goose generations ago. When I was a kid in the
60s we didn’t see them. I thought I heard that they
were all but extinct. With the proliferation of people and
ponds in the 70s and 80s, I see Canadian geese all over
California and other places all year long.

I recognize those buildings in the picture. When there is heavy traffic, we get on the frontage road, and get back on I-80 in front of that building on the left side. If I am not mistaken, Ashby Ave is in Berkeley. The BMW dealership is on Ashby.

Is bream Dixie-speak for what we up North call blue-gill-sunnies?

I think the British also have bream in their streams and that's how the term came to Dixie.

It’s the same up here. They don’t migrate south anymore. There is enough food at least in Toronto that they brave the winter here for the smorgasbord. That said they are incredible poop machines.
