19.188 trillion and counting
Treasury ^

Posted on 05/08/2016 10:48:53 AM PDT by Degaston

Since Boehner and Ryan took over the finances of the federal government we have seen the national debt keep growing. It's now 19.188 trillion. How will we pay this and the exponentially growing interest? The taxpayers are tapped out. The disciples of Bernie are wanting to burn even more dough. But it will be years before the Treasury will bring in enough revenue to cover the already accumulated deficit and interest obligations before it can spend another penny except through more borrowing.

What was the point of the GOP winning any elections if they can't get spending and deficits under control?

The debt has risen over 5 trillion since Boehner became Speaker. The GOP has been a failure.

The reason Republicans can’t get spending under control is because they have no actual regard for their oaths, and they are therefore not ever at all interested in asking the key question: “Is this bill constitutional?”

Put government back within its constitutionally-enumerated limits, and the spending and debt problems disappear.

“I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.”

— James Madison, the father of the U.S. Constitution

The taxpayers are tapped out.

In the eyes of the government, taxpayers aren't tapped out unless they are taxed 100 percent. Maybe even more, government (local, state and fed) just don't care. They'll take all our money without thinking of the consequences.

The eGOP and Obama claimed the this year’s deficit would be $450 billion, but the second they release the debt ceiling it jumped over $1.1 trillion.

... taxed 100 percent. Maybe even more,...

Let me clarify. Government will take what you own, beyond taxing what you make. They'll create ever more taxes in order to confiscate your holdings. That's how they will tax more than 100 percent of earnings.

The total picture is out of control. One example....because of federal regulation and environmental standards, the sewer and water bills are spinning out of control. They used to be a mild annoyance to be paid every quarter. Now they’re escalating, every year, with no end in sight. Add to that local budgets for road repair. Around here, almost all the state allocated money goes to questionable new projects. Meanwhile, roads and bridges crumble.

From a related thread …

Once again, it’s time for "Federal Government Annual Budget 101,” the constitutionally limited power federal government's annual budget as the Founding States had likely intended for the budget to be understood.

Note that a previous generation of state sovereignty-respecting justices had clarified that Congress is prohibited from appropriating taxes in the name of state power issues, essentially any issue that Congress cannot justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers. This is evidenced by the excerpt below.

"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

In fact, based on the Court’s statement above, here is a rough estimate of how much taxpayers should be paying Congress annually to perform its Section 8-limited power duties.

Given that the plurality of clauses in Section 8 deal with defense, and given that the Department of Defense budget for 2015 was $500+ billion, I will generously round up the $500+ billion figure to $1 trillion (but probably much less) as the annual price tag of the federal government to the taxpayers.

In other words, the corrupt media, including Obama guard dog Fx Noise, should not be reporting multi-trillion dollar annual federal budgets without mentioning the Supreme Court’s clarification of Congress’s limited power to appropriate taxes in budget discussions.

Remember in November !

When patriots elect Trump they also need to elect a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will work within its Section 8-limited powers to support the new president, including putting a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes.

Also consider that such a Congress would probably be willing to fire state sovereignty-ignoring activist justices.

The Federal Reserve along with our printed, fiat unbacked currency are the pillars of the debt-ridden, massive nanny state.

Fed.gov and its 1000 social engineering schemes could not exist without them.

The USA is just living off of debt> politicians have destroyed the USA.

We are not producing anything as in mass production with factories as everything is made China.

The way you produce wealth is through mass production in city sized factories , that's how you produce wealth not borrowing trillions from China(who is producing wealth with mass production in city-sized factories that could be in America instead)

Only Trump can save the USA now. Trump is risking all his fortune by taking on the establishment to save America. We shall owe him our jobs, wealth, property and freedom if he becomes president and builds the wall and stops China form ripping us off(just this will make America great again). Through great sacrifice Trump is risking it all his success, his happiness for America for our freedom! support Trump!

I’m of the opinion that we need a constitutional amendment that says we collect taxes based on the budget plus .01%. This would allow for proper punishment of over taxation plus a reserve find once things have been paid off. Maybe with a clause for .0001% after the debt is desolved.

Around here, almost all the state allocated money goes to questionable new projects. Meanwhile, roads and bridges crumble.

Yes, government is constantly making lies to us. "It's just a temporary tax!" - until they keep extending it and then make it permanent. That's what they're doing in San Mateo county just south of SF. They got foolish voters to vote in a sales tax increase (I think 3/4s of a percent) because it's temporary for a few years to get over a budget "crisis". Now that time is almost up, they're seeking to make it permanent. Meanwhile, the funds raised were diverted to other pet projects.

Primary examples are the local bridges here. The tolls were supposed to be temporary to pay for construction. They were raised over and over and the tolls diverted. Then they ask voters for more money in order to fix things that were supposed to be maintained under the tolls. For example, the GG Bridge bought ferries and buses which became a big expense, as well as other projects unrelated to bridge maintenance. Tolls for the SF/Oakland Bay Bridge were diverted to build roads and bridges elsewhere, instead of being there to fix the Bay Bridge, for which they went to the taxpayers for more money. The promise of a temporary toll was a lie. And the tolls are constantly increased because they are "necessary" to fix outstanding maintenance problems, problems that should have been covered by old toll collections.

Government taxation, spending, and waste are indeed out of control.
