Group of friends had enjoyed early morning meal in Istanbul restaurant İdris Alakuş intended to pay and became angry when Hasan Erdemir did Alakuş stormed out before returning with a gun, shooting Erdemir dead

This is the moment when a Turkish man shot his friend dead after the latter had paid their restaurant bill in Istanbul.

İdris Alakuş shot and killed Hasan Erdemir after an alleged argument over who was to pay for their soup in the capital's Bakirkoy district in the early hours of Sunday.

CCTV shows Mr Erdemir paying for the bill, before Mr Alakuş appears in the frame clutching a gun, opening fire on the men.

Mr Erdemir had reportedly met Mr Alakus in the restaurant in the early hours of Sunday alongside two friends, and had been invited to join the latter at his table.

After finishing their meal, Mr Alakus had intended to pay the bill, but became infuriated when he found out that Mr Erdemir had pre-empted his move, The Telegraph reports.

When he was told that Mr Erdemir had already paid, Mr Alakus started arguing with the man before storming out of the restaurant.

Footage from the incident shows Mr Alakuş aiming for Mr Erdemir's groin, shooting him and his two friends.

Mr Erdemir died in hospital, while his two companions remain in care.

Mr Alakuş fled the scene, but was soon caught by police and taken into custody where he is expected to be charged with Mr Erdemir's killing.

The symbolism of having his meal paid for by somebody else led to murder. That kind of symbol-mindedness is so unenlightened that it’s incompatible with any polite society and the civilized world.

There's a lot more to this than what the short clip is showing

The shooter looks like he's trying to shoot the guys penis and when the first shot is fired, the sitting guy gets up to move and the second shot looks like a spinal tap

Everyone looks and acts dazed ... weird.

The nuns used to say Constantinople. They were sure it would be christianized again. Constantine was the Emperor who christianized the Roman Empire, and hence the West. They still held a grudge about the Crusades. Early Crusaders sacked Constantinople, not endearing themselves to locals. In 1453, the Turks conquered the city, driving out the Greek inhabitants, and converting St. Sophia to Hagia Sophia.
