Bruce Willis killed John Travolta in the bathroom with one. John never got to finish his book.

In the late 70s I was responsible for acquiring weapons and ammo for SEAL team 2 - an unusual and sometimes annoying job for a Marine captain. I received a request from them for a dozen MAC-10s and I told them it was ridiculous. They aren’t combat weapons and they weren’t even being made anymore. They got their favorite admirals involved, so I ended up buying them.
After they arrived, the SEALs took them to a Virginia Beach indoor range and burned through 6,000 rounds in a single session, trashing most of the guns and burning out the suppressors.
Glad we could provide an afternoon’s entertainment...

IIRC, in Lone Wolf McQuaid, Chuck Norris used a spin and a continous burst from his MAC-10 to mow down a vast arc of bandits arrayed on surrounding hillsides. His control of this precision weapon was bloody diabolical.

From the same movie:
C'mon Hector, the MAC-10 submachine gun was practically designed for housewives.

The MAC-10 etc was simply a “dump” weapon.
You walk up to confined space and “dump” the magazine into it.
It was never intended as a tactical weapon or at any real distance. It was designed to kill multiple occupants of a car or small room at close range. You drop it and run. Cheap and effective. It is not an extended service weapon, but more of a single use.

"While fighting their way through the Crimson Jihad camp, Harry (Arnold Schwarzenegger) hands Helen (Jamie Lee Curtis) a MAC-10 he took off a terrorist. In one of the film's more humorous scenes, Helen drops the weapon down a flight of stairs causing it to go off when it hits each step, the stray rounds scoring several kills. This scene was re-created on Mythbusters and thoroughly debunked. "

It looks kind of cool, though. Just like some old cars, someone ought to remanufacture a reliable version today with the same look.

Rick used one in Magnum PI. Opening scene in later years.
