Norway's Lutheran Church voted on Monday in favor of allowing same-sex marriage, becoming the latest of a small but growing number of churches worldwide to do so.

Last year the French Protestant Church allowed gay marriage blessings, while the U.S. Presbyterian Church approved a change in the wording of its constitution to include same-sex marriage.

So much for Solo Scriptura. Polygamy is more biblical than gay marriage.

Hey - who are we to judge?

Ain’t that right, Pope Francis?

Voting to overrule God's word.

It's a church of Satan.

Speaking of Pope Francis --- how long until the Catholic Church is the only church that doesn't do gay marriage?

So all we need to do to override God’s word is vote on it?

Huh... I believe there was a story about that... Babel something or other...

It's what happens when the authority of Scriptures and Christ are denied. Particularly while the Old Testament says it is an ABOMINATION worthy of Death and the New Testament says that "no Homosexual will enter the Kingdom of God".

To marry them is to take on their sin into the church.

Other sins such as Bestiality, Sex with the Dead, Sex with children, Polygamy and many other sins of the flesh are sure to follow these into the so called "churches".

To your tents, Israel!

“Speaking of Pope Francis -— how long until the Catholic Church is the only church that doesn’t do gay marriage?”

Meh....give them time. They could officially condemn it while allowing local synods to deal with same-sex marriage on a case-by-case basis...much like divorce. That sort of legalistic language should be vague enough to delude the conservative supporters of Catholic doctrine whilst allowing the liberals to practically engage in same-sex ceremonies.

I don’t know, Mrs. Don-O.

The priests lead us in almost every Mass to pray for the Pope. I can tell they are nervous; agitated by what’s transpired out of Rome the last couple of years.

Also, I see some who are weak in the Faith to begin with who are using the rhetoric coming out of the Vatican as an excuse for doing whatever they want - which mostly is counter to traditional Church teaching.

There are some who are turned off by ‘fire and brimstone’ teaching, but look at the fruits of going in the other direction! The Catholics of yesteryear are not the Catholics of today (largely). I see almost no Nuns anymore; they are missed, as they enjoy a very special role and complete the Church, imo.

Upon this rock, Jesus built his Church with St. Peter as the first Pope, and the gates of hell shall not overcome it. I stand on that.

So am I and proud of it.

What you are seeing, I think, has a positive side: the death throes of ultramontanism.

Since the 1800s there has been this creeping idea—pious yes, but also dangerous—that the Pope is an autocrat who can do pretty much what he likes. So St. Pius X gutted the Roman Breviary. Pius XII reorganized Holy Week, and of course Paul VI handed the entire Mass of the Ages and calendar to a panel of experts to be cut apart and pasted back together.

We the laity have become passive, submissive, and too eager to simply accept the diktats of our ecclesiastical superiors even when they are supremely ill-advised and even detrimental to the faith. When the Novus Ordo was promulgated we should have told Paul VI to stuff it.

Let our priests be wary. Let their agitation turn to steely resolve to not see the faith watered down by any hierarch, be he the Pope himself.

It's true that in practice, everything can be altered by gradualism and subterfuge. I'd be surprised if gays haven't long had their relationships, which are predicated upon sodomy, "blessed" at Dignity Masses over the years, probably at Paulist and Jesuit parishes, probably at Most Holy Redeemer in the Castro.

Since its not actually the Sacrament of Matrimony, weak/complicit superiors and bishops won't blow the whistle.

"Praxis" destroys doctrine in all but the letter. Look at what happened with Humanae Vitae.

Here is the salient term in the headline:
^NORWAY’S^ Lutheran Church...

Not like it might be “Christ’s church” in Norway of the Lutheran Tradition.
Meh.
