Five arrested at park restroom 'popular' for public lewdness

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department held a sting operation on Monday following reports of daily acts of public lewdness and indecent exposure at a restroom in Walnut Creek Park.

Michael Mitchell entered the restroom at around 1:00 p.m. He was arrested after authorities say he exposed himself to the undercover officer and asked for oral sex.

At around 11:45 a.m., Able Salazar was arrested and charged for public lewdness after touching and grabbing the officer, acts described in the affidavit as "reckless," "alarming" and offensive.

Capital punishment? That's a little extreme. I don't think that was exacted even in the earlier days of our Republic.

I'd go with a Class B misdemeanor in Texas. Severe enough to avoid at least the public risk of apprehension, but mild enough to be a public censure on this behavior.

It's not just MA. Even here in Texas, many highway rest stops are haunts for homosexual men looking for an anonymous "quickie." Many years ago, I was propositioned at one because I had to gall to actually rest in my car from a long drive.
