The number of tuberculosis cases in the United States rose last year for the first time in nearly a quarter-century, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Thursday.
Twenty-nine states and the District of Columbia each had more cases in 2015 than 2014, raising questions -- but no definitive answers -- about a possible resurgence of one of the world's deadliest diseases.

Illegal immigrants. We used to have health checks for immigrants but I’m not sure that they even have those any more for legal immigrants. The microbes have become vaccine and antibiotic resistant.

So, the last time it increased was the first year of the Clinton Presidency? I wonder what could have caused an increase at that time? Could it be that 1993 was when border controls were loosened the first time?
