“I could have easily seen myself supporting him if Trump for whatever reason did not get the nomination. Now, I am more opposed to him than ever.”

Exactly my sentiments. Based on the backlash to his comments, I’m guessing he’s trying to figure out how to extricate himself from the $hitstorm he created. Just hope no one buys his apology. Lie to me once, shame on you, lie to me repeatedly, shame on me.

Cruz could have made a one paragraph statement putting the blame on the protestors and those who organized them and emerged as a statesman.

But he couldn’t couldn’t resist opening his lawyerly mouth and inserting both feet. It’s what he does, because he cannot pass up an opportunity to remind us that he is better, smarter, and ordained.

I got turned off of Cruz (to whom I donated!) a while ago by his own behavior, but this takes the cake.

As soon as he has the corrupt Bush family on board, I knew he was bought. It’s sad. A year ago we all here believed in him.

I’ve been pretty neutral on the Republican primary.

But for Cruz to blame Trump for what happened in Chicago pisses me OFF!

It’s so easy for the BLM crowd to win because they have no opposition and the people who promised to protect us have decided not too.

I saw that. I get information from many different conservative news groups. People are fed up with him and with the Beck supporters who were protestors. He missed a great opportunity to say something positive. Many are saying he's just another politician.

Cruz would have gotten the same treatment from the left if he was leading.

Would Ted have blamed himself?

No, he wouldn't have, and can't you just hear what Trump would be saying about those thugs, and the coordinated attack? Cruz really showed his true stripes. I was even a little surprised at this, truly.

Not just Cruz, but the entire Republican Party just pissed away a golden opportunity.

Unless the RNC is already part of the cabal. Which I do suspect. They do so much of the bidding.

Young folks only know what they are born into-—many of these immigrants of today do not want or intend to assimilate and become real AMERICAN citizens——they want the freedom and protections we offer, along with the freebies and ‘brownie points’ they get but to truly become an American-—NEVER-—witness the Mexican flags last nite in Chicago (news media never mentioned them although they were centered in their cameras)-—these foreign immigrants (that is exactly what they are) will suck us dry and hope they can outbreed us, then turn this country into the third world pigholes they crawled out of-—Democrats will kiss their asses to get their votes-—when we are finally finished as a God fearing, strong, uplifting nation!!——of course I am old and have lived and fought thru the best days of my beloved America!!-——cheers and Blessings to all

They're saying much more than there's too much chaos, Rubio said this morning he didn't know if he could support Trump now because he is the author of chaos and anarchy. I believe Kasich said something similar. This is their perfect alibi for not supporting Trump after their oaths.

Now you know what it's like to see the Matrix from the outside.

Trump is the only candidate who is risking everything to be our champion. His efforts compare to those of our founders who risked their lives, wealth, and reputations on making the US a reality. Trump is following in their footsteps. I personally think it may be too late to save us, but I’m with Trump in a valiant effort to try.

Cruz is a politician and a lawyer-—as such, he has few , if any, principles

Cruz’s feedback loop is election returns. He measures “right” and “wrong” by results. To him, the ends justify the means. So, no, he doesn’t know yet whether his remarks will help or hurt the mission as he sees it.

Yes, Cruz showed what he really thinks about the constitution, didn’t he. Not much.

Excellent points. And the more I think about it, the more I realize that Trump was shrewd and spot on in cancelling that rally last night, in order to diffuse what was clearly an orchestrated setup by a coalition (either loose or "otherwise") of Establishment and Far Left thug/disruptor elements.

The intent of the provocateurs was to create a yuge incident which could be used to smear Trump, and Trump saw right through it. He did exactly the right thing, something a leader does, and as a result he has revealed the utter hypocrisy of the remainder of the GOP field of candidates.

And many Ted Cruz voters are reconsidering their support because of the severe tactical blunder he just made.

The Establishment and the Far Left stand exposed and defeated. And Ted Cruz stands with them...

Lawyers are trained to argue.

Cruz fell back on his training.

Look at Obama......same thing.

He turned Libya into a mess and then argues that it’s Britain and France’s fault.

He’s a lawyer. They argue.

Govern efficiently and effectively?

They don’t teach that at law school.

Cruz is plenty smart. He just fell back on his training when he should have spoken from righteous indignation.
