Extreme March Weather Pattern Yields Snow in Mexico, Historic Flooding....

The upper-air weather pattern over North America this week has been an extreme one that has yielded record-breaking results.

An area of low pressure in the upper atmosphere that pushed into California on Monday dove southward into Mexico, where it became mostly detached from the main jet stream to the north. This allowed it to stall over northern Mexico, resulting in rare March snow for parts of that country and extreme flooding in the southern United States. At the same time, the jet stream built north over southeast Canada, where an expansive area of high pressure both aloft and at the surface of the earth has resulted in extreme warmth early in the season....

So we will say this is evidence of global warming???

It will be warm in New York over the weekend. And as New York is the center if the media universe, whatever they experience is magnified to be indicative of global warming. Otherwise strange weather would not be discussed as part of a long term trend.

Call it what you want and bury your head in the sand if it makes you happy.

Yes, March is always a quiet and calm month for weather in the US.

Trite response. I suppose you don’t have a thought for the children who will inherit the consequences of your failure to think about them.

It was global cooling in Mexico but we had global warming
here in Colorado. It all depends on what globe you’re in. ;-)

Perhaps you believe us deniers should be all jailed and the key thrown away. There is absolutely no proof that humans have in any way had affect of climate.

BTW, your Messiah Obama is wrong, America is not the worst polluter of the planet. China holds that title.

The planet has been much hotter than it is today, before humans even walked the earth.

How long before we are being asked to send money to help them out? I find it silly considering how many of their citizens live here sending cash every month. I also know that there are those that will call me un Christian and heartless............I’m OK with that!

Believe what you want.

Oh I will, and it doesn't make me wrong. What has convinced you that you are right?

You are a beautiful child of God. Don’t send money to the slick charities that capitalize on disasters, especially those that are looking for a monthly donation. They are all scams that capitalize on the good nature of people.
Better to help those you can see - in your family and neighborhood.

What the hell does a snow in March in Mexico have a to do with jack all?? Guess what, it happens every 15-20 years, at least.

Hell, it was much hotter WHEN humans walked the earth. They don’t call Greenland that name from the snow, and there aren’t dead bristlecone pines 1000-1500 feet above the current tree line because it was colder...

That doesn’t answer my question, what made you a believer in Climate Change, and that humans are responsible?

If you live in Florida you should worry about the fact that us geologists joke that the entire state is essentially just a beach that sees wave action infrequently enough to grow trees... :-)

I'm sure you're concerned about all kinds of things.

No smoking hot spot

1. The greenhouse signature is missing. We have been looking and measuring for years, and cannot find it.

Each possible cause of global warming has a different pattern of where in the planet the warming occurs first and the most. The signature of an increased greenhouse effect is a hot spot about 10km up in the atmosphere over the tropics. We have been measuring the atmosphere for decades using radiosondes: weather balloons with thermometers that radio back the temperature as the balloon ascends through the atmosphere. They show no hot spot. Whatsoever.

If there is no hot spot then an increased greenhouse effect is not the cause of global warming. So we know for sure that carbon emissions are not a significant cause of the global warming. If we had found the greenhouse signature then I would be an alarmist again.
