Oh what utter nonsense. Everybody knows that global warming is responsible for the increase in bagels and the resulting increase in lung cancer. If only we would allocate another $5 billion to global warming research!

You’re supposed to EAT bagels, not inhale them!

H’mmm, sounds like an anti-Jewish oriented research. And the next thing NYC Mayor DeBlaiso will probably do is to demand that all bagel shops in NYC be closed and he’ll ban them from being sold by deli’s and grocery stores.

It’s been said for years that bread made from flour coming from so-called “processed” grain (endosperm only) is utterly unhealthy. Just dogged denial catching up to reality.

Um I will immediately desist from consuming bagels and switch to donuts, which have holes.

Does this apply to whole wheat, gluten-free, or multigrain bagels or just to white flour bagels?
To: Cementjungle
With some people inhaling and eating are synonymous.

Exactly! just stop smoking bagels!
To: Wallace T.
I didn’t read the study.
I typically presume, myself, that unprocessed whole grain breads do not do harm versus processed endosperm-only breads.

It’s the deadly chemical DHMO that is found in all cancer cells that is the real culprit.

Other articles on the subject merely say “carbs”, so I’m guessing it refers to simple carbohydrates.

I usually stay away from bagels, but I’m still at risk from exposure to second hand bagels.
To: Olog-hai
White flour is about the worst thing you could eat.
