Ms. Harris-Perry is black, and Mr. Lack and Mr. Griffin are white. In the phone interview on Friday, Ms. Harris-Perry clarified her remarks and said she did not think race played a role in her recent absence from the air.
"I don't know if there is a personal racial component," she said. "I don't think anyone is doing something mean to me because I'm a black person."
An NBC News spokesman said in a statement, "In this exciting and unpredictable presidential primary season, many of our daytime programs have been temporarily upended by breaking political coverage, including M.H.P. This reaction is really surprising, confusing and disappointing."
For MSNBC, this is unwelcome news during a heated election. Last year, after its scandal involving Brian Williams, Mr. Lack, the former head of NBC News, was brought back to run the news division, and one of his chief missions was to fix the ailing MSNBC, which significantly trails Fox News and CNN in viewership. In the last few months, Mr. Lack has steered MSNBC away from its liberal identity and moved it toward harder news in the daytime hours.

Sounds like NBC is a TOTALLY RACIST network, considering the treatment of her and the fact that the network is run by A WHITE GUY - Jeff Zucker. Not good - they need an EEOC investigation, given this behavior.

BLOGGER He had an HOUR long, very long, painfully LONG show on MSNBC for a year or more. The only people who could possibly be watching are Blacks. All the Sharpton topics are about Blacks, for Blacks, most guests are Black...mega-stars of the whining and grievance, reparations industry.
Odd how MSNBC never noticed Al is slow-thinking and slow-speaking, and barely coherent.

Amazing. Many of these biracial folks can thank God that they had a white parent that was there when the black one wasn’t(Bummer). Their gratitude: Put down the whites if there’s a buck in it.
Look at others: Colin Powell(Republican) finds the right moments to stick it to us. Magic Johnson? Gave the middle finger to Bush when resigning from some stupid Presidents athletic organization.
