They injected alcohol/water as needed from the windshield washer into a vacuum line.
Nice!
And he does not appear to be a spring chicken!
Here is a younger keirin guy cranking it!

That looks far better than the Whizzer I had as a kid!
A bike shop in Chicago had belt driven roller racing platform for two, that and photos is all I’ve ever seen; looked to be fun.
No hands no problem,
out of saddle, no problem,
Out of saddle no handed!!!
OH MY!!!
I have a Realryder stationary bike, it kind of sort of steers like a road bike, almost.
For one brief second, I thought I could safely try no hands-out of saddle on it?
On second thought, I still have all of my teeth and I’m attached to them.
The thing weighs near 300 pounds and won’t tip over; perhaps with a spotter???
Bobby was a vet when I was racing in the late 70’s. His Dad Johnny raced until he was 90... he won everything because all the guys he raced on velodromes and horse tracks in the 30’s were dead. Bobby’s Mom Zoe also raced. Bobby himself started on a fixed gear at age 3. He was a magician on a bike. He could move through a pack of 50 faster than a young buck could move by one the outside. Once saw him ride through a mass crash by hopping his bike over the fallen.
I coached a bunch of juniors in the 80’s, and sent my best track guy up to Trexlertown velodrome to ride for a week with Gibby Hatton who had raced keirin in Japan. That kid came back with more dirty tricks than you would think possible. Those guys are ninjas on bikes. This kid could stick his helmet in your armpit at full speed and move you three feet to the side.
Bunny hopping over bodies on the road is truly a lost art.
As a youth I practiced that move for many, many hours.
Kids today have no understanding of the classics!
