If I ever lost my mind long enough to allow a stinky cat into my house I would find myself lucky and well shut of it if that danged thing ever got lost.

Cats > people, and brother, the gap is getting wider every day. I’d drive a long way to get mine back.

Our cats have a very important job on the farm. They keep mice out of the barn. The dogs have a different job, they keep the coyotes and bobcats away from the barn. The Great Horned Owl that lives nearby is a bit of a problem, but the cats are very aware of his presence. Cats only very rarely disappear, but becoming Coyote chow is only one of several possibilities.

I think that you should round up some busybodies and demand a law that requires everyone to live like you. And, I don’t send $19 a month to the Humane Society either. Sue me.

I’m with you, I’ll take the companionship from mine over today’s brainwashed stupidity any day.

I am of the same mentality. I won’t go out of my way that far not even if it’s a great mouser.

we were traveling across the state a year or two ago...stopped at a NY thruway rest stop - trucks cars you name it - all loud and all moving every which way....a young lady opened her car door after, only to have that cat make a break across the lot, through a small fence hole and into the woods.....I don’t think I ever saw anything so heartbreaking - the girl was terribly upset

My cat is named Toonces. He can drive himself home, as long there aren’t any precipitous drops on the way.

I would do it without second thought.

I’d rive about one revolution of all the tires. If I don’t find the cat that way, it will make it back on it’s own somehow, sometime.

Well..

Anyone want to go to Norway to pick up this cat?

I would suspicion she's - strange.

It doesn't say whether she's litter-trained...

Cats are a dime a dozen. Sorry to offend, but true. We ve lost a few over the years to coyotes. You feel bummed out for a few days then just get another one.

Yep, I wouldn't walk across the road to find a cat. I grew up on a farm, if the cats didn't fend for themselves, they died. I would never let one of them in to my house.

Working animals are different than pets. I was talking about pets. The thread is about pets. Presumably the poster I berated was talking about pets.

I think you should can the hyperbole and bother to understand the actual conversation you jumped in on.

Aren’t you special. I believe that I was talking about the same species, does this mean that you have a different set of rules for domestic animals, wild animals, and house pets? Where can I get a set of these rules?
