When we first got Shadow he was flea infested, so he got regular baths. Even later, when full grown, he would tolerate a bath, but would make the most God awful guttural growls the whole time. He would just sit there but let you know he was not happy about it. It was really something to hear.

All the dogs in our neighbor hood were scared of him. The ones that weren't at first paid a heavy price to learn to be. LOL

I have a 25lb. Maine coone. One time I took him into the vet and the girl looked at him through his carrier when I walked into the office and shrieked “what is that?”’ Lol

I want a Maine Coon but I am currently one cat over my limit. Maybe next time. I have a Snowshoe that is very long. He opens all the doors also. The other cats actually request his assistance.

Had one named EBB, big and fat and kind of simple. Lived for almost 20 years.

I have a mutt who looks just like a Maine coon. I tried to put him out to play in the snow yesterday, thinking he might like it since his feet are naturally insulated against snow—uh-uh, he wouldn’t hear of it.

The cat in the picture looks a lot like him.

Just remember you’re in a car. Cars win.

I doubt you worry about coyotes eating him.

I got a Maine Coon/Tabby mix and he is huge. Caboose the cat has a foot long tail and very long legs. And stealthy as a ninja. For a large cat he can move very quietly and nimble. He has a bell around his neck and he can move without making it jingle. Good thing he is friendly because he has claws like a darn puma.

Wow..they’re beautiful. I’d like to have one, but I’ve been given orders; no more cats. LOL
(See our herd on bio page. My favorite is our ‘Fancy Feast’ cat)

We have ‘barn owls’ in E.TN that could take away a small child. When it takes a raccoon, the screaming will curdle your blood.

Ragdoll cats are the biggest domestic cat - our Chuckie weighed in at 26 pounds. But a sweeter, more loving animal you’ve never met!

Love your about page. With a snow and cold loving wife I doubt I will be moving there like I want.

Thank you! Glad you liked my ‘about’ page. You’ve no idea how hard it was for this PC dummy to make all that.

I can’t bear the cold. I freeze when it drops to 60 degrees.
I’ll take our Tx heat any day. LOL

From a year and a half or so ago*:

A 38-pound pet bobcat escaped from its New Jersey home over the weekend, three months after its last escape and less than three weeks after its owner vowed it would never get loose again, police tell NBC 4 New York.

Police say the bobcat, named Rocky, escaped from Virginia Fine’s Ocean County home Saturday morning.

A complaint from a neighbor prompted a response from the township’s Animal Control, which issued a summons to Fine for the animal “running at large.” Fine managed to corral Rocky after about an hour.

*POOR Rocky is now a resident of Popcorn park Zoo.

Then vet day comes up...then you discover that claws of a serious nature and built as a killing machine.

You'd think that the vets, in self-defense, would have developed a day or two lead-in of tranquilizers added to kitty's food prior to appointments.
