So, I've been chiming in on the Cruz bashing threads around here with my own bashes on Trump.
When it comes down to it, I'd rather have Cruz win the nomination than Trump.
BUT
I'd rather have either of them win the nomination than Hillary.
I'd rather have either of them win the nomination than Sanders.
I'd rather have either of them win the nomination than Bush.
I'd rather have either of them win the nomination than Huckabee.
I'd rather have either of them win the nomination than Rubio.
So, I'm done. I'm going to stop piling on in all of the Trump bashing threads. I'm going to stop chiming in on all of the Cruz bashing threads.
If it's important to the rest of you to totally destroy your Republican opposition candidate so that we are weakened when we face the Wicked Witch (Hillary) or the Flying Monkey (Sanders), then keep at it. Otherwise, join me and STFU.

Good on ya!
I’d vote for either Trump or Cruz in the general.
Mums the word.
Excellent post, we all need to unite against Bush, Kasich, Hillary, whoever. We can win this time if we don’t form a circular firing squad.
I’m with you, Washi.
I like Trump. Mainly like him because he doesn’t apologize when the media demands it.
On the other hand, Cruz is my candidate. Still I would vote for Trump over the Dem.
This is the Silly Season — the Republican nomination — which is the time when bans happen freely and without much warning.
I try to maintain a lower profile now.
Agreed. Now can we just get them to take it easy on each other?
What would also go a long way is to quit posting the same articles
over and over again.
It is not NEW news and only encourages hatred.
It adds nothing to the conversation.
It’s like playing the same record over and over again.
Whe new stories or news breaks, let’s talk about them and move on.
I am not directing this at you, but using your thread to make this comment
Well, as a general rule and practical matter, the Cruz side is unlikely to stop unless the Trump side does, and since Trump continues to double down, I doubt that anyone is likely to stop anything until the primary is decided..
Agreed. But, you know, what either of them actually say is milder than once it is bounced around the media “echo chamber.”
That’s why Washi’s thread is so important. The leftist want Trump and Cruz to cripple each other and bitter posters and fans for either only assist this leftist goal.
Thanks, Washi.

I think your post is spot on. My only difference is that I’ve never joined in with any bashing, though I do refute BS and lies and post sources for actual facts on posts that unfairly bash one of those candidates, which as far as I can tell originate about 99.9% from a small handful of Trump-haters and Pro-Cruz-Trolls.
I’m about to the point where Trump is battling Bush for the bottom of my list of republicans. I am so tired of all his lies and attacks on other candidate’s faith when he is utterly clueless himself.
“and since Trump continues to double down”
WHAT?? IT’S THE CRUZ SIDE THAT CONTINUES TO DOUBLE DOWN!!
;)
Watching the back-and-forth had me thinking, “Wow, the libs must be laughing and consuming much popcorn if they are reading this stuff.” Especially in the media, never mind here.
For my part, the two that really irk the GOP-e wing of the Uniparty are the two I would most want to keep in the race rather than push out. And that is pretty much it.
seems like a lot of us forgot who the enemy is
meh, we only get to have this much fun every 4 years, so why not enjoy it?
Deal. I’d vote for either.
