“AFFIRMANCE OF A POWER,-THAT THE RIGHT OF A PEOPLE TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED. Who fought the Battles, of Lexington,Bunker Hill and Saratoga?
...Who saved Baltimore? ... Who obtained the victory at New Orleans?
These militia, trained and disciplined in their own houses; not practised in the field, but BRINGING THEIR GUNS WHICH THEY WERE TAUGHT TO USE WHEN CHILDREN..”

Where’s Joe been lately? Haven’t heard from him in the Leftist media for a while.

I was crossing a parking lot when a man appeared from behind a van holding an Uzi and yelling angrily at someone I could not see. His young boy then also walked into view . . .

That is part of why I do not allow my kids to play with toy guns. I live in the People's Republic of Maryland, and while many of our cops are good, at least a few of them are anti-gun morons. I never wanted to put the occasional stupid cop in that awkward position. I also never wanted my kids to think it was okay to point anything that looked like a gun at another person except in self-defense. I don't want any overlap between what they learn with a SuperSoaker and what they learn about real firearms.

All of my kids shoot fairly well, and it has probably been years since anyone in my family except my wife hit outside the black when at the range. They all treat shooting as an enjoyable activity to take seriously, which I love.

One Christmas when our choir was singing, we gave our little boys die-cast airplanes to play with during Mass. They had no moving parts, didn’t make any sounds, so we figured they were safe. Wrong ... reenactment of Pearl Harbor on the risers behind us, pick up by the microphones.

1) All guns are toys. You should point them at friends and pets, because it’s funny to see their reaction.

2) A gun is definitely unloaded when you check once, briefly.

3) Your finger should always be on the trigger. Otherwise, it takes too long to adjust.

4) Bullets always stop where you are looking. They do not have the power to travel any further.

I can’t help it. I’ve lost interest in whether America’s liberal losers call me racist, so I no longer censor my words. I hope my slip didn’t put you in a dark mood.

That would be a niggling point, if it did. It’s preferable when we call a spade, a spade.

What are your house rules?

**********************************************************

My boys were not allowed to pistol whip each other or their sisters dolls either, with their toy guns.

(you gotta draw the line somewhere)

When you finally run out of “ ammo “, do not use the toy gun to hit your playmates over the head.

:-)

Years ago, when WBill Jr. was much smaller, he and all the rest of the little guys were "sheep" in the church Christmas play. Cute costumes that my lovely wife made out of white shag bath mats, but I digress.

The play went on, the time came for the sheep to step forward and deliver their lines, and.....

.....no sheep. Nowhere. Not on stage, not behind the stage, they'd disappeared.

A bit of frantic searching revealed them to be behind the altar, underneath the choir bench, quietly playing with some Matchbox cars WBill Jr. had stuffed in his pocket beforehand.

"Shepherding the Wandering Sheep" is now a trope in our church that gets pulled out every Christmas. :-)

Anything one does with children in church has the potential for maximum entropy.
