Scientists have found a new strain of bacteria that is resistant to all antibiotics

FOR years experts have warned there would come a day when antibiotics would cease being effective.

And it seems that day could be sooner than first thought after scientists discovered a new superbug that is not just impervious to the last line of defence medication, but has the ability to infect other bacteria.

But instead of destroying its virulent cousins this new strain of e.coli actually strengthens them by giving them the same antibiotic shield.

Still, the brain dead leftwingers worry about their “climate change”. I’ve been saying all along, it’s not “climate change” that’s going to kill us all.

Well in a way it will be “climate change” that kills us all. By pouring money into “climate change” this takes away from real research that could have gone into real causes to save us.

They’ll blame the appearance of this on climate change, sure enough. (Despite a host of liberal championed behaviours which couldn’t be better designed to convey and disperse disease.)

I’m sure my liberal friends will call us “bigots” if we try to keep it from our shores.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

I feel the same about all the money diverted to "fight" smoking.

The only tobacco commercials on my TeeVee are about quitting, but the ones we pay for irk me. The commercial ventures will carry that banner to sell their product, and the government funds don't need to be spent on ads when the money could have gone to cancer research.

My first thought as well, you are as skeptic as I am, and for good reason I'm sure.

I suspect the "Invent It" theory....we do need another 10 year experiment, or another 100B$$ into research. Good job those inventors.....job security at least.

Good question, but a 'doomsday bug' that conveys immunity to other bacteria just might not be a good thing to have. It won't break down and you can't just clean it up or wait for it to disperse.

Like the universal solvent problem (it dissolves everything, so what are you going to keep it in?) it is something you might not want to have.

Obama will feel compelled to move residents from the most infected regions into the United States, saying “this is who we are”.

Exactly. 1 Billion to invent it and 100 Billion to find a cure. I guess that’s the broken window theory on a massive scale.
